After being a member of this surgery for over 20 years today I had my first dealing with the practice manager- Marjorie Stewart. Arriving promptly for my three year olds appointment we were left waiting close to 30 minutes in which time my toddler became restless and upset. I fully understand a tantrum from a toddler in the reception is not ideal however I highly doubt it's the first or last incident of its kind. I tried my best to distract my little one from the wait and boredom when we were approached by Marjorie. At this point my son was settled however Marjorie thought it her place to comment that he obviously was not there for an appointment for himself as he certainly did not look nor sound unwell and he was troublesome towards those who were genuinely unwell. Marjorie of all people should know that not all illnesses such as autism are obvious and her comments were hurtful and unwarranted. This kind of behaviour from any member of staff is out of order but from the practice manager is a complete lack of professionalism. I will be taking this matter further and have filed a formal complaint with the practice.

I personally believe that the staff in Murray Surgery are the most helpful and caring within East KIlbride. I don't only base that on my own experience as a patient of Doctor Mannis, but as someone who worked within the care home sector, The Murray surgery never forgot they had patients and came regularly to check on them. I would not hesitate in saying you won't find a better surgery than this on. Patricia Lee
