I know I'm in the minority here. But I've found the care I and my son received was professional and helpful. My son had been vomiting for over 24 hours and called for advice on how best I could help him. I got through to reception and they said a nurse would call me back. Which she did an hour later, she talked me through my son's symptoms and assured me that although it's upsetting to watch him be sick it should fade away within the next 24-48 hours. Being a first time mum I just needed some medical reassurance and I got it. I understand that the phone system isn't great, I actually got cut off while waiting in the queue. But it's not the staff's fault, please be kind people.
The receptionists are all lovely. There is ONE really good doctor - Dr Slaven - who is really knowledgeable, kind and professional. Unfortunately I didn’t get to speak to him often due to constant staff shortages etc. During Covid, they were fobbing patients off with appointments with a pharmacist, instead of a qualified doctor. She didn’t have the knowledge or training or people skills that doctors have. She didn’t understand my diagnoses, so she became argumentative, rude & dismissive. It was very upsetting & she made me feel much worse, as if I was to blame for my health conditions. Because of this, I decided to move to a new surgery. I’m so glad I did!
I have been with this surgery for 10 years and my two children are also registered here and am sorry to say that I agree with the other 1 star reviews….appalling patient care, won’t answer the phone, on one occasion I called the practice 47 times during one day and got no where, I have complained and got not where with that aswell…they cannot blame covid as they were bad before it hit, they are even worse now! It’s a shame because a few of the receptionists are great not them all right enough nightmare of a practice…getting right on it to move
I'm new to the area and unfortunately in my case this was the chosen practice for this week. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole , non existent duty of care of patients is appalling. My personal experience has been atrocious stay clear and wait until the following week to register with another practice
Been going here all my life and won't be going back, impossible to get through, reception staff that don't care and doctors that care even less! If you want long term help go elsewhere. Oh and if you complain "it's health board rules"
Had to get my left leg amputated but they cut off my right leg! Silly sausages
Worst surgery to ever have dealt with. Moved to the area recently and joined only to be disappointed by such lack of help. Takes two days to connect a call and even then barely get any response or help. Can't wait to change surgery when things open up again.
Had no actual real experience with the practice as they refuse to answer their phone. Even with COVID I have tried for months to actually get through to book a new patient appointment. I sent away my documents when I was 9 weeks pregnant, as I access a different health board currently after moving into the area I was told to switch. I am now 28 weeks pregnant and have called minimum 3 times a week to set up said appointment with absolutely no luck. Today alone I have called the practice 22 times at all different times of the day. The practice is either appearing as line busy or my call is answered and hung up on. Will be registering at another practice as I cannot imagine desperately needing an appointment and waiting days to even get through to someone. A shame as I am sure the staff are actually fantastic however, I will never know having been trying to register for months!!
Horrendous service can't get though to anyone they just point blank refuse to answer the phone, wouldn't want to be dieing that's for sure.
Doctors lovely and staff at reception always eager to help Thankyou x
