I went to Belfast for the first time this weekend, and Muriel's was the quirkiest place we came across. The story goes that it was once owned by a lady of the night, Muriel, and today, sexy underwear hangs on a make-shift washing line stretching across the ground floor, with a neon sign in the background reading 'Wait here, I've gone for help'. Even the toilets are racy - decked out in images of scantily clad women - while the upstairs bar is decked out with plush seating, velvet cushions and big lampshades, just like a boudoir

Looking something quirky it's definitely worth a visit. Some special drinks found and great for a gin. More than one floor so be sure to take a walk around. Not a big place but great for fee drinks before heading on. If doing a pub crawl it's also worth popping in.

One of my favourite places or should that be Palace as in gin Palace. Having said that it is a small Palace for Muriels who worked day and night to make ends meet. They serve a great selection of gins and the knowledgeable staff will advise on the perfect serve. There is a selection of tonics and you can specify your own mix if you prefer. Alas they no longer serve honeycomb with Jawbox so explore the rest of the menu. They also serve beer and food - don't get distracted from your mission.

Nice gin bar in Belfast city centre. They have good bartenders who will make you a gin to your flavour depending on what tastes you like. They used to do the local gin jawbox with homemade honeycomb but unfortunately don't do it any more which is a shame as it was probably the best drink.
