An authentic Chinese restaurant with 35 years of experience. Really friendly staff m, make you feel at home. The portion of the dishes are really good and just the right amount so no waste. Authentic Chinese food without adding too much sweetness. All in good savoury, Unami and freshness taste. Very clean restaurant. Lots of parking.
Overall 5/5: An authentic Chinese restaurant with 35 years of experience. 5/5 for service. Really friendly owner and staff. Don’t worry if you don’t understand Chinese food and what they gonna be like. They are always patient to explain to you. 5/5 for value. Averagely 25-30 per person will make you really full. The portion of the dishes are really good. 5/5 for taste. Really authentic Chinese food without adding too much sweetness. All in good savoury, Unami and freshness taste. They got true “Wok Chi”. 5/5 for environment. You got parking there and dining in a mansion like building. Clean and we don’t see greasy floor here, which is uncommon for Chinese restaurants because of their ways of cooking. Parking: Just within the restaurant’s drive. Kid-friendliness: We saw customers have their kids birthday party hold over here.
We stumbled upon this place after having a spa day in Nottingham! From start to finish, the customer service was amazing! It’s a proper authentic Chinese restaurant with the most amazing food and dishes. The crispy duck, chilli crispy beef and chicken fried rice was my fave. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
Very busy early. Clearly a popular Nottingham eaterie with a lively atmosphere. Service was good from the outset and staff were friendly and attentive. Booking slots are for two hours which for us was just about right for us to enjoy our meal at our pace. The food was delicious but no better than anything else that l have had elsewhere. Our highlights were the aromatic hdlf duck, the sweet and sour pork hong kong/ cantonese style and the king prawns with cashews. The egg fried rice and special fried rice wasn't the best I have had..a bit bland . Prawn crackers weren't supplied as a free entrée as I would've expected* but the mixed houvres d'ouvres were very nice but the quantity of the serving could've been better. The main downside to think establishment is it's pricing. It's really, really expensive. Three adults way in excess of £120!! This restaurant is charging more than Chinatown Soho prices where the food is generally of better quality and more authentic. To summarise... A nice place to eat but you'll have to be prepared to spend a lot of money for the experience so because of this we can't afford to give it better than 7/10. Sorry
I took my mum here for her birthday and it was a really nice place to eat. We went at 12 and had drinks and chow mein. The staff were all friendly and the restaurant was well kept. The food was on the expensive side but it was nice for a special occasion. There are a few steps to get to the tables, so this may be worth keeping in mind if you have any accessability needs.
Food was excellent. Every course came out extremely quick. Would recommend the set menus. Lots of food for the price per head. Staff did seem a little miserable except the bar lady. Place could do with a refurb as looking a bit dated but again the food was excellent so that made up for it.Food: 5/5
Excellent food as always. Super tasty and highly recommendedFood: 5/5
There's nothing wrong with the place & it's all absolutely 'fine'. My low rating is based on my own personal preferences & standards and also based on the last time I visited over twelve years ago. It's very different. I get that. I get how difficult the hospitality trade is & I'm grateful for the food. Its with my opinion that with all the COVID plastic dirty barriers still up all around the place, which I get & the yellow & black tape everywhere, the tired old-fashioned decor & the somewhat rushed service which included stripping the table down back to the plastic cover before we'd finished our drinks it was just a bit disappointing. There's no where to sit & have a drink really whilst you wait for your table, the bar doesn't have anything on draft & there was a very funny taste with the bottled Asahi, but it was all just ok. The food comes out I assume cooked fresh - that's great but it also means it comes out in the order you get it, there's no acknowledgement of a starter or main. You just get it when you get it, & that includes any sides. The duck was a bit dry, the Lamb was a bit fatty & greasy, & the Nasi Goreng was not a Nasi Goreng that I know, but I'm hardly an expert. The prices for food was ok, but a small 330ml bottled beer, £5, and a J20 where they fill a small 16oz highball glass then take the rest away, well I just dont know, £100 in total for two. The place is very noisy & the single room set up means there's no ambience as such, its just like sitting in a very busy room with everyone talking. No music, no lighting, tables & chairs stacked on top of one another, like they are having a clear out. I do like the fact they clearly specify what the gluten free & vegetarian options are, but myself & partner, along with what we noticed most people struggled with, are the menus are old fashioned in leather bound books with plastic covers so the bright artificial light reflects & you can't see the actual menu. I'm sorry it just was ok. I'm more than grateful for the folk who work there & the hard work that goes into running a place like this, just not for me.
Originally wasn't going to have a Chinese meal, but after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try, and in all honesty I'm glad I did, the food came piping hot and you could tell it was cooled fresh, the satay chicken sticks were absolutely gorgeous, they were fresh and juicy, normally when you order Chinese it's cooked twice, then for the second course I had lemon chicken with egg fried rice, I personally have never had lemon chicken but I really enjoyed it, it's chicken breast with batter and a light sugar coating, the sauce was like almost a thinned lemon curd sauce, it complemented it very well. The staff were very friendly and very polite, the restaurant was very well laid out and very well presented, the only thing I didn't like was the tables had a clear plastic sheet on them with a paper napkin on top, it's almost as if they think we're animals and make loads of mess. Other than that I would recommend this place for a nice celebratory meal.
Two of us came here for a birthday celebration. 1st time here for me. Really enjoyed the set lunch with a couple of extras, I recommend the Chinese vegetables with garlic. Good amount of quality food on set menu & is great value. Exras are a bit pricey.....Lovely food, great service! The only reason I only gave 3 stars for atmosphere is because the place was quite empty- not their fault though. Good value, fabulous lunch ! Many thanks.
