I have a company car and have used MotorAid several times. I've always received an excellent service and the last job (repairing bodywork damage) was impeccable. If you are lucky you might even get free pizza while you wait!!

I had a problem with intermittent starting on my Mercedes. I purchased a new battery thinking that was the problem. It wasn't. I didn't want to waste time and money fault finding. Booked an appointment to sort this problem out. It wasn't resolved I was told every thing is good. Charged £60 and I was no nearer finding the problem. My son took off the under trays and cleaned the starter motor connections. Job done. So thank you motor aid for literally nothing and charging £60 for the privilege.

Appalling garage. The sort that give garages a bad name. My car was running absolutely perfectly, but was due a service so... Booked my car in for a service and brake fluid change, also a courtesy car. When I dropped my car off everything was fine. I got a call in the afternoon to say that the brake pads and brake discs were no good on the front. They gave me a price which seemed high, so I asked for a breakdown. As I was on the phone I was checking the prices for the same brand items on Eurocar parts website. When I said that they were very expensive and I could buy the items cheaper the lady was surprised and checked online and confirmed I was right. She said I don’t understand how you can buy them cheaper than us. Anyway, we agreed a price and I asked for the work to be done. Then she asked if I’d had trouble with the car battery as she said it was flat and the car wouldn’t start up in the workshop. I had no problem at all, the car had a brand new battery 3 months ago. Oh she said, it’s probably your alternator. Do you want us to change it for you? How much is that? Oh about £350 plus VAT. No I’ve really had no trouble so leave it please. When I picked the car up they said we’ve left it running because it won’t start, we’ve tested the alternator and it’s only giving 12 volts instead of 14. No thank you I said, you lot are the kiss of death, the car was fine till it got here. As I drove away, the handbrake and ABS lights were coming on, They had not been on before they had it so I took it straight back. They took it in and put it on the computer, apparently the alternator is overcharging which is causing all sorts of lights to come on as it doesn’t know what to do with the extra electricity!!? Hang on, I thought it wasn’t charging the battery, now it’s overcharging it? Well they said, it’s just as bad. Do you want us to change the alternator? No thanks. I got the car home and then as I switched it off it was instantly dead, no power locks, no clock, nothing. I called the RAC out. He checked the battery and in 10 seconds found one of the terminals had been loosened off, he tightened it back up and the car came back to life. He then checked the alternator and found it to be in perfect condition. Now, I’m not saying this garage is an up selling, cheating, lying, conning place... it could just be that they are incompetent.

Great independent garage particularly for German cars. Prices are always lower than main dealer and they are very knowledgeable.

I had some bodywork repairs done. Great service. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable. Treated like a person.
