We have just returned from a wonderful week at Mother Ivey's Bay Holiday Park. The park is in a fabulous location, and is well landscaped with gorgeous sea views. Our caravan was immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped. Security is good - we felt very safe and well looked after. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a shop on site that stocks essentials and local produce. We tried their delicious fresh pizzas and also local sparkling wine which was a hit with all of us! We loved being so close to the beautiful coastline and semi- private beach. Lots of great walks and places to visit nearby.
Just returned from our holiday at Mother Ivey's. We have been visiting this campsite on and off for 20 years or so and absolutely love it. Perfect location for walks and beach days! We always find the Campsite extremely well maintained - toilet/shower/washing up facilities are always clean, and this year was no exception. Staff are extremely welcoming, friendly, courteous and helpful. We had an issue trying to get fins onto a surfboard didn't have the right tool and my husband spoke with someone driving around in their cart who told him to follow them over to their garage with it and they then put the fins on for us! The only reason for not leaving a 5-star review this year is that sadly the shop has changed too much. Its been nicely done but there are no newspapers/magazines and in previous years there has been a lovely selection of sweet and savoury pastries from the Chough bakery in Padstow - the selection was not the same this year and prices are a lot higher. Also, no wet shoes/buckets and spades/windmills - all the childish things mine have always loved buying over the years! We often used to queue to get in to the shop to buy fresh produce - this year we didn't buy anything. The shop is a bit too upmarket now, we feel. Just adding a nice coffee machine to the old shop would have been perfect! Having said all that, we will definitely book again and again with our touring caravan as we holiday here for the location, not the shop!
One of the BEST Family Friendly Campsite/ Holiday Park we ever stay. Definitely the BEST Campsite for families in Cornwall. With direct access to semi Private beach wow just wow, we felt like we are abroad. Other spectacular beaches within walking distance. Every Wednesday great BBQ on the beach; Great Play park and football ground for kids. Toilets/ Family showers are spotless clean. Meet so many families who come back here every year and we not surprised why; We never come back to this same Campsite but this one definitely will!!!!!!!! We had amazing week and wish we could stay longer; Close enough to Newquay too; Highly recommended to Families and people with dogs too; We love every minute in Mother Ivey Holiday Park. Thank you so much We will come back!!!!
My family and I have been coming to this site for the most part of 20 years. The reason we return is because it is a beautiful site, the staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are always at a very high standard of cleanliness and just the location. I would recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately on our visit last week we were in for a shock. The campsite shop is horrendous!! Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely shop, if it were in a town centre, but for a campsite?? I've never seen anything like it. The prices are horrendous; a loaf of bread for £3.75?? A small box of muesli for £4.50?? Come off it. They no longer sell newspapers, so my father had to drive in to St. Meryn just for a paper, and no camping essentials so be prepared before you get there. They do fresh butchers meat but were always sold out when we tried to get some. That was such a let down this year unfortunately. Other than that it's a lovely campsite and I will return again, I just wouldn't support what they have attempted to achieve with their little shop of horrors.
Just returned back from a lovely 2 weeks in one of your gold caravans we have been coming to you for 7 years now, we have had a lovely time , relaxed and some stunning walks plus I did sea fishing of the rocks with my mate Andy …. The site is always immaculate and all staff are friendly and approachable . The new shop was stocked with what we needed and it was great to have the pasties there too, didn’t get to try the pizzas next year we will. Looking forward to our 2 weeks next year and have booked a diamond van as a treat, let’s hope the weather is a good as this years !
Absolutely stunning location. We love our time here each year. Beautiful beaches and lovely walks. The only disappointing thing is that the on site shop has been taken over…what a shame. We used to buy most of our food from here but won’t be doing so again. Tesco is a short drive away or Harlyn Bay is next door. It’s now very overpriced and limited choice. It was perfect before. The receptionist wasn’t exactly helpful when asking a question and took her 5 days to resend an email but the location supersedes these observations.
We visited whilst on holiday as we were looking for another caravan site for next year. We had my parents with us and my mum has Breast Cancer and can't walk very far so we agreed to take a little drive around the site. How wrong we were to think we would be welcomed. Two members of your staff were very rude to us and basically told us unless we had a pass we couldn't just drive around the site. We didn't realise it was an exclusive club and most definitely won't be looking at holidays there. Manners are not expensive .
Stuffed in a wet grassy corner The Square with no view of the sea despite as promised on the pitch I had booked, I was far from happy. It was called "De Luxe" site due to the fact I had a hookup!! I paid £37 a night for a total rip off. To top it all the showers were luke warm. Wont be returning despite the fact that Mother Ivey Bay was lovely- the camp site took advantage of their position and did not come up to standard.I had to leave a night early as I was so incensed.
A great location and a very nice private beach. The site had good and clean facilities. A good shop but a bit pricey. Lots of great walks long and short. All the other guests we bump into around the site are friendly and made for a nice atmosphere. We stayed in Boobys field which was lovely, but be warned the winds are strong due to exposure. We will be coming back next year. One thing I would like to add however. I know water conservation is very important hence why the showers are water saving push taps. Every time you push the tap the water runs for 9 seconds, and I’m not being funny, but no one is having a 9 second shower and pushing the tap constantly became tedious. I would recommend a push tap that lasts for a minute. Or even 30 seconds would be fine. Aside from that it was a great place to come for my first camping experience and my first time down in Cornwall and I am excited to come again next year! :
What a fantastic campsite. Spotless, great sized pitches we were in the Square, great facilities and easy walk to private beach. Showers were great. Lovely luxury on site shop and such a stunning part of the world. Big playpark in the Meadow for the children was appreciated. Highly recommend. We have already booked for 2023!
