This used to be a great place to eat and shop. Food was cheap and plentiful in the cafe, now its lacklustre, the purchase is made via the touchscreen kiosks. The cutlery often looks dirty.nnThe main shop has just too many items stacked between isles. The main grips is the lack of checkout staff at the time of my visit. Only 1 cashier was working and then there was a queue. With all this automated systems one would have thought that the prices would be lowerl but its the same with all supermarkets albeit morrisons had only one manned till open. Good side, a lot of parking including disabled parking, a petrol forecourt and a pharmacy. Also there is InPost, near the side of the main shopping centre, there is also evri, DPD and royal mail. This is in an unusual place ie the back of the petrol station facing the main road.
Shopping at a supermarket is a necessary evil but Morrisons changed my mind. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They showed me exactly what I was looking for. The checkout staff are always cheery and helpful. Well done!!!!
Generally, my feelings are if you advertise something on television, a promotion in this instance that lasts 2 days, you should probably have stock to fulfil it. In this instance, I went down specifically for a £2.50 roast chicken A good deal which was obviously going to cause increased sales and got given a £7 one, when told there were no more roast chickens left. However, I'd just been handed one and charged nearly three times the amount of the advertised one.
Very disappointing and disrespectful experiencennI had an extremely unpleasant experience at this Morrisons store and felt humiliated by the behaviour of one of the cashiers Sophie.nnI am 28 years old and was refused the purchase of cigarettes because I didn’t have my ID with me and, according to the cashier, I “didn’t look 18”. I accepted this and was ready to leave. My sister, who was behind me with her shopping, asked if I already bought the cigarettes, since she wanted as well. When I told her no, she then tried to purchase them herself. She did have her ID, but the cashier refused again, claiming the cigarettes were for me and accusing us of speaking badly about her in our own language — which was completely untrue.nnWhen we tried to leave calmly, I only mentioned that I had bought cigarettes from this store many times before without an issue. At that point, the cashier pointed aggressively to the door and said “Get out” in a very rude tone. This was completely inappropriate and unacceptable, especially since there was no argument or disrespect from our side.nnWe returned later with my ID and asked to speak to the manager. While waiting, I tried once more to buy cigarettes with valid ID, and the same cashier refused again without any clear reason. The manager’s response was dismissive and did not properly address the cashier’s behaviour. To make things worse, the cashier contradicted herself by saying she “doesn’t understand our language”, after previously accusing us of speaking about her.nnThis experience made us feel embarrassed, discriminated against and unwelcome. Refusing service is one thing, but speaking to customers rudely and telling them to “get out” is unacceptable. I hope Morrisons takes customer service and respectful behaviour more seriously.
The foyer have a fantastic flower display and even have very helpful in house trained florists to make up bouquets while you shop, the flowers are fresh and great value for money, I always get my flowers at morrisons they last ages.
