Attended as two visitors from City of Newcastle Golf Club on a gloriously warm Bank Holiday Monday.nWhat a welcoming club!nAll, from the pro shop check-in to the clubhouse staff sorting food and drinks before the round, were incredibly helpful. A number of members on the first tee were so friendly to us, it was remarkable.nLayout interesting and varied with considerable challenge. The back nine has the more spectacular holes with elevation changes and holes that rival the best clubs. My only criticism is that, although pretty true, the greens ran very slow on my visit. But that’s also part of the challenge I guess.nThanks so much for a nice Bank Holiday round. I will look to visit again.
Came here with family for Sunday dinner. The food was delicious I had the trio of roasts, which consisted of beef, lamb, and pork with all the trimmings. Vegetables were perfectly cooked and not mushy.nFinished off with mint and chocolate cheesecake and ice cream for dessert.nService was police and attentive. Highly recommended.
Sunday lunch was really nice, my roast pork was well cooked as was my partner’s lamb.nFriendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere, bar area downstairs is also very welcoming.nWill definitely be back.
Had our golf society day today. Early start on a Sunday morning and great for travel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pre round bacon sandwich was great and the lady who cooked them made sure the bacon was well done. The course is in great shape, challenging layout and the greens were superb. The weather was challenging as it was a strong wind with rain at times. Even managed to win the golf society day which was a bonus! Had a guiness zero to celebrate as I was driving back home. Highly recommend and I will be back again with a different society in the next couple of months.
Lovely tasty, tender meat, well cooked vegetables and the biggest yorkshires ever, with lashings of extra gravy. The best staff I have experienced in a long time, friendly and so pleasant they made the lunch even better.
