Think VERY hard before handing these guys any money. We bought a car at the end of January 2018 after it was put through the usual MOT & service etc. When I collected the car I noticed it was at 3000+ revs in 5th gear doing little over 50mph. I put this down to me overthinking as we have always had diesel cars in the past, this being a petrol. We bought this as a second car/’run around’ for my wife which would do very few miles. 6 weeks or so later my wife mentioned the high revs (only covered about 150 miles in this space) and noted she couldn’t get above 65mph without thinking the car was going to blow up. She called the office and we were told to call Simon and have Halfords look at it under the warranty, which we did and were told to come through first thing the next day. When she got there they had no idea we were coming (!) and asked to leave the car as they had no idea what was covered in the warranty, with no communication all day my wife had to collect the car without repair to collect our kids from school. My wife called Simon again to explain what had happened and he said he’d make some calls and call her back before the end of the day, that was over 2 weeks ago and we’re still waiting on his call back. I called the office again to explain what had happened (Halfords) and that the car was bought like this (high revs) and he just laughed and said ‘that’s what your warranty is for’ and we’ve had the car 8 weeks (he didn’t want to know that we’d hardly used it to find the problem and it was unsafe with our kids in there)!!! I explained that we shouldn’t have been sold a car that needs looking at straight away?? He explained that he used to drive this car at 70mph+ on the A19 home many times without any problem (which I think may be a line they spin as that’s what he said about a VW Golf when we were there initially). The final straw was when my wife tried to overtake a tractor on the A69 and at 70pmh was at 4500 revs (which is not a problem apparently), we had to trade in at another garage, at a loss obviously, to get another safe, road worthy car. In our opinion they hide behind the warranty and push everything back on you, once they have your money they don’t want to know.

I would not recommend these to anyone! I purchased a car less than 6 months ago off them and it is now completely unroadworthy. I have spoken to many other garages and mechanics who all have agreed that I had the right under consumer legislation to ask for a repair or part refund. However, only response I could get was that they are not willing to help which after paying £1595 for the car I feel that is unfair! I'm posting this to make people aware before buying a car off them I've lost a lot of money because of this and can't afford a new car for a while now.

I bought my car in August and had no problems the car came with a full mot and service. the service off staff was very good and they were very helpful would buy again off this company

Wanted to mechanical check a vehicle this dealing was selling.... He then refused to sell it to me and was very abrupt good luck buying from here think you will need it.
