Food and Service.. PERFECTION 10/10 Me and my family go here monthly as it’s only down the road from where we live. Every time we go the steak is cooked perfectly, prob the best steakhouses I’ve been to in the UK. Highly recommend to everyone. If your not a steak lover then highly recommend the buttermilk roasted chicken was juicy and tender but they have a good menu with plenty of options. Big thank you to Emma who made the evening great, she was so bubbly and chatty and has a great personality. Look forward for her to serve us again. Thank you for a great evening.

Had an absolutely amazing meal. Amanda was a brilliant waitress. Very friendly and everything she recommended was fantastic. She made us feel at ease from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. The food was superb not an empty plate left (main or pudding). Made us feel as we were back in our own home having a meal at the dining table totally forgot that she was also balancing many other tables except ours. Memorable evening that will definitely be repeated!!!!!!#askforamanda

I have been here loads of times and had a great experience. However I have been twice in the last two weeks and had issues both times. First time- my steak was so fatty (8oz sirloin) that I sent it back as I couldn’t cut it over a third of it was pure fat and my husbands steak was half medium/well and half medium/rare which was sent back to be cooked more. Then last night one steak which was ordered medium/well was more rare than my medium/rare steak. It was sent back and came back more cooked but still pink we didn’t send it back as we just couldn’t be bothered to wait. And they didn’t get us two of our three lettuces. I hope if I come back again the experience is better.

To be fair, there were six of us eating last night and five of the meals were really nice. Unfortunately the person that booked didn’t have a very nice experience. She had booked to celebrate her husbands birthday and wanted every thing to be “just right”. Once we were seated, orders placed, drinks arrived we waited for our food. It was quite a long wait no one was timing it but approximately three quarters of an hour, we weren’t to bothered, conversations were flowing and no one was too bothered. Then the mains turned up, looking good, however our host had ordered a fillet steak which she was unable to cut, so it was sent back, our waiter informed us on the time scale and was very attentive and apologetic. The replace fillet turned up, equally inedible. We are all feeling very sorry for her as by now she is quite upset. So the complaint was made and compensation was asked for, our waiter has no authority to make the decision so he went to ask the management. The offer was minimal. So at this point she asked to see the manager. It was clear he didn’t want to have the conversation, he managed a few obligatory apologies, starting to explain how they could trace the offending cow and the feedback was appreciated ( don’t think it was). As he left, before he was out of sight he gave a huge sigh ( glad that’s all over). The bill was explained to us as they had to account for both steaks so we were charged for both then refunded also two drinks and two sweets. Ok that was fair. But, the attitude toward the complaint was totally inappropriate, not one of us thought the manager actually cared and was just glad to see the back of us. Next week we will take her for a steak at our local village pub, the butcher is literally round the corner and the steaks are always good.

Not up to the usual high quality we have come to know and expect at miller and Carter. A few mistakes from wrong drinks, warm food and over cooked steak meant our Wed anniversary meal was not really what we hoped for or got. A big improvement needed before we return to this Miller and Carter
