This place LOOKS great, really interesting environment and a lot more going on than your usual pub. The food was pretty good too, and arrived swiftly. It was a sunny day, and we would have like to have eaten outside, but were told they wouldn't serve us food if we sat outside, something about being difficult to locate us, I didn't push for further reasoning. We all ordered burgers with the suggested drink pairing, and it worked well. Will have to visit again and give it a proper run-through, and will share some photos!

Had lunch there on a Thursday, l had pork and ale sausages with "bubble and squeak". This was delicious but it wasn't bubble and squeak, fried potato pieces tossed with cabbage is very nice, but not bubble and squeak. My husband had fish and chips which was very good. Both good meals.. Friendly staff. As non drinkers we had coffee, also good, then we were recommended to try their alcohol free beer, which we really liked. Altogether a very pleasant experience.

Slow service, staff disinterested. Ordered 6 dishes, 2 not available. Food arrived after around 35 minutes and cold. No cutlery or napkins provided, had to find our own. Tray on table for ketchup etc was empty. Final straw was live music, acoustic guitar and vocal which alone may have been good but the piped music was not turned off, ridiculous. I did complain but it was dismissed and not altered.

Beer brewed on the premises so my love of drinking real ales totally satisfied. Food is ok, standard pub fayre and the atmosphere always good. Fantastic beer garden area out back and the log fires are a real treat when the weather's cold.

Came here with my boyfriend for a change of pace. Nice decor, drinks were good although seemed a bit expensive at just shy of £5 each (!!!). Can't complain about the food, what we did have was really nice. However, service was astoundingly bad. After having starters, we waited over an hour for the main course to come and it never did. We were both restless and fed up with waiting around so we eventually just politely asked if we could be refunded for the mains. We had waited so long we felt like we couldn't enjoy it anymore and we wanted to go home. The member of staff we asked to assist us with this was nice and she was prompt in doing so. As we were arranging the refund, a guy who had served my boyfriend on the bar throughout the evening turned up carrying the plates of what would have been our food. How convenient! He asked about us wanting a refund and attempted to persuade us to have the food, which we at that point were no longer enthusiastic about. We didn't receive an apology from anyone. I think this place is perhaps pleasant for the odd drink, particularly during the sunny weather we have experienced recently, but I won't be coming back here again. P.S. Completely agree with what N Turner stated regarding the live music below.
