Attended a wedding there yesterday.nI’d never been in the hotel before.nIt was really well decorated for Christmas plus the decor was top drawer.nThe meal and food in the evening was the best I’ve had at any wedding venue in NI.nThe staff were friendly and good banter and looked after everyone all day.nWell done and thank you
I generally only use Google to review positive experiences - but our meal today was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share, even if it's just for the business to be able to improve for the future.nnWe booked a meal in the restaurant as a present for my family for Christmas and were really looking forward to the experience but were sorely disappointed.nnWe were seated in a lovely table and our orders were taken promptly by friendly staff - but from here things went downhill.nnWe waited around 1hour 30 for any food to arrive, which we had to enquire about twice. When my food finally arrived a medium rare steak, it was completely overcooked and tough. I was so hungry by this point that sending it back wasn't even an option. My partners food wasn't great either - soft, overcooked veg and food lacking in flavour.nnI have to give the service team credit for apologising and taking my meal off the bill. They were genuinely apologetic and attributed the delay in service to a function that was happening in another room. It's just such a shame to be charging premium prices yet being so overstretched that you deliver a sub-par experience.
Just had our wedding here and could not be happier. The team were amazing & made the day perfect. All our guests has only good things to say from the service to the food. Rooms were fab too, spotless. Thanks again for making the day one to remember. Above and beyond..thank you!
Went for a meal after a funeral Large partyWas very impressed restaurant/ pub was lovely staff all excellent.Food was excellent.Had walk around hotel and it looked lovely again I talked to some hotel staff again all very nice. Only gave for stars because EV charger was broken! Not great as I was coming from Dublin.But over all lovely. Thank you Ivanhoe
Went to the bar for drinks. Nice Guinness and cosy enough atmosphere. That is until the older lady manager? stood with the door to the beer garden / smokers area wide open - letting cold air and second-hand smoke drift in each time she nattered to the smokers outside for a couple of minutes at a time. Later, as we were pulling on our coats, she was hovering with her spray bottle of detergent, chivvying us along. I even caught her pulling a face at us behind our backs. Imagine - the cheek of people taking a moment to put on their coats and scarves indoors in mid-winter Belfast before they step outside. Otherwise, a decent place for a pint. But that individual needs to remember that customers keep her in business and she should drop her open contempt for them. Left a rather unpleasant taste and I'd be unlikely to return.
