Updating my review below as Steve made a particular effort to contact me to provide me with proper info on work done so I feel much more satisfied that proper work was carried to to attempt repair. Looking at other reviews I’d say similar has happened to others so if you don’t feel that you’re getting the service you expected ask for proper feedback. “Just got charged £80 for looking at stereo and saying they couldn’t do audio repair and for looking at door/roof seal and saying they had adjusted it, but that it would leak again, which it did THE NEXT DAY. Refused any refund. I feel totally ripped off. Won’t be going back”

For me they have proofed themselves as a garage who can't be trusted to do what they say they will do. They are also yes men, they will say yes to everything in the believe that you as the customer is an idiot and will never check their work or the parts they have used. My car just last week had to go to VW to repair some of the damage they inflicted on my car. Since taking my car to them which s purely for convenience as my preferred mechanic is quite far away, I have to say one way or another they have disappointed me. As someone who grew up restoring cars with my dad, I do have high standards and I'm not someone who can be deceived. My car was given to them to replace the master cylinder and various other bits around the front brakes. Two weeks ago on a trip up north, I had a car come alongside me on the road and told me my brake lights are constantly on. So after some researching on the internet and then looking in the engine bay, I found that the brake light switch was hanging loose instead of being connected to the master cylinder. I ended up having to pay £94 to have the switch replaced and refitted to the master cylinder. They obviously could not be bothered to tighten the nut properly that holds the switch to the master cylinder. I noted it on a weekend, and I needed the car the next week, so I had to drive like that. And I only gt back on a weekend and had to take it to VW as Millroad doesn't work on weekends. Either way, the definition of insanity is to do the same thing again and expect a different outcome. So there was no point going back to Millroad. But that is money wasted purely because of the incompetence of Millroad garage. One of the first instances was when I took my car to them to replace the front shocks. I did my research and found out what shocks my car has, what replacement ones cost and then phoned MillRoad. I remember explicitly stating I want the OEM gas filled shocks and I was given a price. I then asked again and I remember this clearly, are they the OEM shocks, and I even more clearly remember the response, yes it is...Obviously they think everyone who brings their car to them will never find out whether they do what they say they do. Well, at this time I believed them. The shocks was fitted and when I had to remove a wheel some time later, I noted the shocks was not OEM. They were in fact a much cheaper version. This was upsetting as now I had different shocks between the front and the rear. But most importantly, it was not was I asked for and what I was promised. These guys are yes men, they say yes to everything to get the job, and then they use pirate parts. For me they have proofed themselves as a garage who can't be trusted to do what they say they will do. They are also yes men, they will say yes to everything in the believe that you as the customer is an idiot and will never check their work or the parts they have used. I will in future rather take the time to go to my preferred specialist even if it is more inconvenient due to location. And let us be clear, I know they use pirate parts, the issue is when I asked for OEM parts and they say yes we will supply it and then they fit pirate parts, that is my problem. Not to mention shoddy workmanship. After they replaced the master cylinder on my car, I drove away and nearly collided with a car straight away, I stepped on the brakes and there was a huge delay. I still can't believe they send me out in a car with brakes like that. I had to take the car back and only then was the master cylinder and brakes bled properly and was the brakes back to normal. They are not worth it.

Reliable, quality work, reasonable prices and courtesy cars. Good service too - you get the estimate before you have the work done, no separate ripoff charge for "investigations", and the final bill is always close enough to the estimate as makes no difference.

Not cheap. Main dealer prices. They're honest and do loan a very old polo. Good work though. Best VW garage in Reading.

Took my EOS in with lots of electric problems and also timing belt waterpump and full service. They always kept me updated and kept their price to minimum. Very happy and thanks to Steve and his team. Loving my car again. 5 stars *****
