The wait is fine if you know what to expect and come prepared. Based on the feedback of disgruntled people that have booked having to wait a long time, I do wonder if this could be alleviated by have two queues... 1. Booked queue 2. Drop in queue However, having been before, I'm familiar with the process and the conveyor-belt wait and service. I had booked my tyres over the phone Katie was SUPER-patient with me, helping me sift through stock for a Ford Ranger we've had about 8 months and helped my fine the best price for 4 so joined the queue with my Meal Deal, 2l bottle of water and Kindle. Arrived 11.50am and was driving out 13.10pm. 2 hours, 20 mins wait on a Weds lunchtime... but this was fine for me as I had prepared. Katie was amazing and the rest of my service was polite and well organised. Zero complaints here and we love the more rugged AT tyres we went for. The truck was also right outside the waiting area, so I could watch the whole too hence the pics
Very competitive prices but, my god, are they SLOW! I’ve been here for almost 2 hours now. I’m only getting tracking and two tyres. Literally sat watching my van on jacks with zero movement. Not coming here again. I’d rather spend more money somewhere else and be able to get on with my day!
Not the most cheerful place given that I suspect buying tyres, for most people, is an expensive job that is often required when not expected but Micheldever Tyres have never let me down been going for years now and I always go away feeling a little safer than when I arrived. My most recent visit, they stayed open to help my brother in law change a busted tyre on his hire car.
Always a pleasure. Every time I visit I am reminded how great customer service can be. Such a happy bunch and always so helpful! Great Service as always.. Been going there since 1989 and would never go elsewhere for Tyres Yep I'm old.
I don’t like writing this review and have delayed writing it as I haven’t written a poor review of anywhere I’ve been. In April this year, I purchased 4 x Michelin Agilis tyres for my Ford Transit used as a family runaround and commute - not a commercial vehicle at a cost of £459.08. I chose Micheldever tyres as I’ve used them for 40 ish years, despite being a long drive to get to. These tyres were fitted and off I went home. It seemed okay until I hit the M3 and on reaching 65-70, the steering wheel vibrated to a point, it was unsafe to drive. I got home and phoned up, in the hope one of their mobile units would come to me and re-balance it. I was asked to just bring it back instead. As we are quite reliant on this van, I took time off work and returned to Micheldever to have them re-balanced. This journey, for me is an hour each way due to traffic. After a fair wait, I was assured the van was all ready to go and a passing ‘sorry’ given. I drove home and the same thing occurred, but this time even worse. I was unable to simply return, due to a dental appointment, I couldn’t miss. I contacted them again and was asked to return it. I took more time off work and went back. This time I insisted a fitter test drove it first with me in it. This happened and he could soon see the issue. We went back to the site and I had to wait around for a considerable time again. I was told I could watch all the 4 tyres balanced to be satisfied. That didn’t happen, I saw only two done and weren’t balanced to ‘zero’ as promised. Nevertheless, when it was done, I drove off to try it and this time, it was fine, no steering wheel vibration at all. I have sent an email to them saying the van was driving normally now and was grateful. This took 3 times to resolve and I have never had any offer of ‘petrol money’ or small compensation despite the cost to me and time off work. In over 40 years, I have never had to return to a company to have single tyre re-balanced after purchase, let alone all 4. I’m really disappointed how this was handled and would not return now. The same applies to the rest of my family. I have all the supporting documentation, email contact and Google Maps timeline to show my complaint is genuine. The majority of reviews for this place are really positive but for me, it was the complete opposite
I booked my car tyre change in the Web, it was supereasy. On the appointment day, when the engineer checked the tyres I booked, there was ever so slight variance. I was helped by Martin to get the right tyre and nice enough of him to do it at same price paid initially. The right ones were slightly more pricey. Thank you for saving me the hassle to rebook and for the savings
Recently had all four tyres replaced at Micheldever Protyre. The cost was slightly less than expected and purchasing through the website was very quick and easy. I arrived at 8am and was driving away by 9am, a swift turnaround given the unexpected problems my car threw at them. Thanks again for fixing the keyless ignition problem! The service by the knowledgeable team was outstanding. It is great to see that the great reputation of “Micheldever Tyres” remains and I would highly recommend.
Fantastic service, would 100% recommend. Such friendly professional service, even when I turned up on a Saturday 20 minutes before they closed, and they were still happy to help me!
Always had excellent service and high quality work performed at this garage, with no issues encountered afterwards on the services carried out, so far had brake discs and pads changed, wheel alignment, tyres, and MOT with very good deal on the MOT booked online in advance on my VW Golf GTD. But what makes this place stand out above the rest and what prompted me to write this review was a recent emergency situation I had and the outstanding 5 star level of customer service provided by one specific team member in particular who I’d like to call out that took on my case, as I feel he deserves special credit, by the name of Phil. I recently rocked up with several warning lights on my dashboard and my car having almost come to a stand still on the road, and Phil was just amazing from start to finish, going above and beyond my furthest expectations. Not only was he able to fit me in that day, he was super informative and explained the issue in simple terms as opposed to leaving me confused with car jargon and fast talking as can be a common encounter with automotive businesses, and after determining the cause of the problem in a matter of minutes talked me through the various potential approaches of resolution. Despite the complexity of the various issues, he kept troubleshooting with every possible option to resolve the problems. It is rare to see that level of attentiveness, effort and genuine customer care, especially in the busy and fast paced environment of auto services. His knowledge and expertise in determining and handling the problem was clearly that of a top class professional, and he went far beyond just focusing on fixing the problem, providing advice and having the patience of a saint in answering my many questions, that enabled me to gain a better understanding of how to manage my car care in future, with recommendations and options to consider tailored to the specifics of my car model and usage, but without a hint of upselling or making me feel pressure to purchase more services. There are plenty of places out there that take people for a ride and other garages I’d been to that made me apprehensive in terms of the information thrown at me that left me feeling confused and weary to say the least, but with the level of customer service Phil provided I felt that my car was in safe, capable hands and that I can trust what I’m being told here. He is the gold standard of a mechanic that should serve as an example to others. Definitely the best mechanic I’ve encountered, and the reason I’ll keep coming back to this garage.
I really rate these people. Car dealer said I needed a new tyre. Micheldever Tyres carefully explained why I didn't. And if you do need new tyres, they are fast and good value. Worth travelling to
