Phoned yesterday to check if any special offers were on for the half term holiday. I was told that between 12 and 4pm that it's unlimited bowling for £5 per person. Turned up today with my 2 children looking forward to an afternoon of bowling to be told by the manager 'we never do that in the holidays. You must have phoned somewhere else!'. He was very rude and couldn't look at us.  We stayed for 2 games each anyway as we were already there (luckily it was only £2.50 per game. Still paid the same as we would have for 4 hours). We got to our lane and struggled to put our names in as there were no instructions on the machine, struggled to find bowling balls and then had to report the lane breaking down 4 times during out 2 games. To top it off, noticed halfway through that the ball return machine cover wasn't on properly and all the mechanics were exposed!!  Have been coming here for years so knew it wasn't the most up to date place and was expecting at least one breakdown, but not expecting the rudeness of the staff (especially the manager) and to be basically called a liar for asking for what I was told was on - unlimited bowling!!  Won't be returning anytime soon!!

Went here for my grandsons 6th birthday not been here since the 70s and it hasn't changed, but I understand that they are in the process of modernisation, which it is in need off. Had a nice time though

Went with the Grandson as a half term treat and both had a great time. 

The building and facilities are rather outdated but seemed clean enough and the basics are covered, for example handwash, hot water and a dryer in the gents - sounds easy enough but been in a few other establishments that haven't managed this.

We had two games (x2 people) for bargain price of £10 and apart from the odd instance where the pins didn't reset properly it was trouble free and the staff were quick to sort it.  There were quite a few lanes cordoned off near the toilets with large machinery being stored there so it looks like some updating / replacement equipment is in the pipeline.

We also gave the food a go and it was pretty good and reasonably priced.  Our order was was cooked fresh, fairly generous portions and both of us enjoyed it -  more decent take away than restaurant quality but hit the spot.

In summery, its a bit rough around the edges and hopefully a bit of TLC will sort out the lane hiccups but if your not bothered about the latest and greatest is decor or bowling tech then for the money its hard to beat :-)

Needs a refurbishment but overall a great time,Kids enjoyed it,Staff very helpful will definitely go again.

The building is very date and drastically in need of a revamp.  The staff were not very helpful and in short supply.  The lane we used was constantly getting stuck to which the staff seemed unsurprised and uninterested.  Although it may be cheaper than the others, I still expect to get a good service. 
 I will not be attending that venue again.
