This is a good church in many ways. You will get a significant, serious and weighty message from the bible and wonderful worship with solid doctrinal hymns, however it is a very lonely place! Whether this is because of the size I do not know. My advice is to bring a friend with you if you want someone to talk to before and afterwards, unless you are a younger person then you might get more attention and a friendlier welcome.

An excellent blessed place, where you can always receive spiritual support. Various ministries. Translation of ministries into different languages.  God's blessings!

Good Spiritual Teaching and different nationalitys attend there and also have a deaf fellowship. Many have come to the Tabernacle over the years have come to know the Lord, threw his word and Saving Grace.

I attended both meetings in Metropolitan Tabernacle one Lord's Day last year. I knew the moment I entered the building I was in a place where the Lord was reverenced. I thoroughly enjoy Dr Peter Masters ministry. I find it both challenging and encouraging and extremely easy to listen to. May the Lord continue to richly bless this dear servant of His and use him to bring many souls to the Saviour. May I add a further comment. Not everyone has the same experience when visiting a place of worship for the first time. A large congregation like the Metropolitan Tabernacle could easily be a lonely place. You could feel yourself being swallowed up, due to the largeness off the building and the congregation. No doubt I sympathize with those who have that experience. It would be very difficult for the elders to pay attention to every visitor who attended, many will slip through unnoticed. However, that was not my experience. Immediately I entered the hallway of the building I was recognised as a visitor and courteously greeted. The same was true when I left. I think what helped me was, that, I regularly listen to Dr Master on sermon audio. When I visited the Metropolitan Tabernacle it seemed as if I had been attending it on a regular basis. I felt at home in the place. What impressed me was the manner in which the service of worship was conducted. It was God honouring. The emphasis was placed on those things that are paramount in our worship of God; prayer, God centered singing, reading and the exposition of the word.

Attended 11am service on 29 October 2017. What I LIKED: respect and reverence for God throughout the service, focusing on prayer, scripture readings, worship, holiness before God, no nonsense no compromise preaching based wholly on the Bible, and the absence of worked up entertainment (ie no nitrogen smoke, no disco lights, no brash and profane rock-style screaming from any so-called ‘worship team’ which plagues many churches that have confused and substituted worship of God with self-manufactured entertainment). What I DISLIKED: When the Spirit of God is welcomed and present, as at this church, there is usually a sense of excitement that develops, hard to contain, due to the Holy Spirit moving in the hearts of the congregation. It seemed this excitement was curbed quite a bit in the service. Perhaps the leadership is concerned about disorderliness, rightly so, and if so it’s a shame if it has gone to the other extreme!
