"Set in rolling countryside and conveniently close to the scenic coastal path, Merrose Farm campsite is an ideal spot for a family holiday, with a playground and family washroom on site. If you're visiting the Truro area for the first time you have a surprise in store - the Roseland Peninsula is as pretty as its name. A day or two exploring some of the charming fishing villages within easy reach from the Merrose Farm campsite is well worth it - places such as St Mawes, Portscatho, Portloe or Mevagissey are known for their quaint appeal."

Lovely site, good facilities, perfect dog walking field where they could run free off lead, shame one or two owners too lazy to 'pick up' after their dogs, but there's always the minority who are selfish. Staff generally good & friendly, but a couple were a bit too pedantic, but I suspect they'd had a long busy season. Have been a Caravan Club now Caravan & Motorhome home Club member for nearly 10 years, some rules do not need explaining in minute detail, bless them. A lovely bonus was the pair of Barn Swallows & their chick's nesting just above the ladies toilet door, such a privilege to see.
As I was a solo backpacker travelling the SWCP anda Member of the Club, Keith and his team welcomed me to camp here for the night and made sure I had all I needed. It is a very clean, well located and well kept Site which I hope to return to in the future. Special thanks to Keith and Trevor for all they did.
Positives: Tidy campsite well laid out. About a 20 min walk to the beach. Negatives: So many rules. The main one being all washrooms are closed between 10.30 and 11.45. I was shouted at by an incredibly rude cleaner for using the toilet in an open wash room at this time. 2nd Negative Check in. They do not take payment in advance. You arrive you have to park up and then join a long queue. When you get to the front the lady painfully goes through 5 pieces of paper with her highlighter before telling you to pitch up anywhere. You then have to go back to reception to collect a card to display on your unit. Did not find out the reason for this laminated piece of paper and was tempted to take it down to see what happened. As I said so many rules. But just in case you forget they have attached a different rule to the back of each toilet door! By the end of your stay you may have read them all.
Just stayed here for the first time. Absolutely fabulous spot to stay & explore this part of the Cornish coast. Lovely peaceful site with a wide range of facilities including dog walk & kids playground. Scrupulously clean as usual & really, really helpful staff. We highly recommend it..
Lovely quiet campsite. Sense of space. Facilities fine. Site maintained in excellent condition by helpful and friendly wardens. Beaches within walking distance. St Mawes well worth a visit. The NT Castle interesting and the setting is striking. Also well worth visiting. Mevagissey, in my view, less so. Downside of the area generally is the narrowness and winding nature of roads. At times quite stressful when meeting other vehicles. The access road to the caravan site is not problematic. I am referring to the roads around the peninsula, away from the a and b roads. The church at St Just in Roseland was for me the high point. Truly beautiful, ancient and atmospheric, in a glorious setting. Nothing else I saw compared to it. It was not open which was a shame. You may be luckier. Photos attached.
Absolutely loved the site, perfect base for our first week in Cornwall. Really well laid out site, might be a small road to get in but it’s traffic light controlled so completely safe. One site shop was great, plus pizza van and chip van nights were welcome. Toilet facilities were excellent and the children’s bathroom was perfect - even a proper little bath for them! Would not hesitate in going back again!
This Campsite is large, and immaculate. We were there in June and it was so peaceful. Everyone on site was really friendly. This is a dog friendly site, and when we stayed there were no barking dogs I've read about in other reviews. There's a nice enclosed dog field where dogs can play off lead, and also walks outside the campsite and down to a beach. This was the largest campsite we stayed on this trip, and it had the least number of showers per pitches. There is only one block in the middle of the campsite, but when we stayed there were always empty showers, considering the site was very busy. There is water and rubbish/recycling areas around the place and a large children's area. We were out of season so I can't vouch for how this set up would work if the site was full of families. We had a really lovely peaceful stay, and we had a great check-in experience too.
Stayed here with our caravan for 2 weeks in August this site is well maintained as is with all Caravan and Motorhome club sites. It has ample facilities and although on a sloping site most pitches were level and it has a good playground for young ones. There are plenty of good beaches nearby although they are accessed by narrow and sometimes very steep lanes.
Lovely site tucked away in the beautiful Roseland Peninsula. Bus stop at the top of the hill on the main road and a farm shop selling local produce just a few hundred metres down towards the sea. Super beach along a quiet road from the farm shop with a great cafe and public loos - but be prepared to queue for food at peak times. St Mawes is delightful but a tough 5 mile bike ride with some 15% gradients but the bus is an alternative for a day out if cycling is not your thing. The staff are lovely; hardworking and helpful. A great place stay.
Nice site but to be told we had to turn round and leave the site as it wasn't 1pm that is the sign you are greated with at the entrance bear in mind it was 12 55pm !! conversation with the warden was this is Head office rules and we will turn you round and won't let you in till 1pm in future.i think from our experience caravan and camping sites are cheaper and definitely more friendly on arrival.
