I booked the Mercure London Staines for 2 nights for me and my family as a base for our theme park visits we had booked. 
The check-in process was very smooth, i was greeted by a very nice professional young lady who was very helpful.  Our room had a triple sized bed, a single bed for our son & tea/coffee making facilities, we also had a mini fridge which was stocked up with bottled water.  The decor of the hotel was very nice, the beds were very comfatble & the cleanliness was second to none. Breakfast was very hearty and very filling, which consisted of continental, cereals, fresh bread, fresh fruit & juices, fully cooked breakfast too, self service worked very well because you had so much to choose from and food was always available.  
We decided to have our evening meal on the first night in the restaurant.  All our food was delicious, with good portion sizes & priced very competitively. Our second night we decided to have room service as we'd all had a very long day at Legoland! The gourmet burger was absolutely amazing.  Me and my family were looked after by Jazz & Felipe however all the colleagues at this hotel were all very helpful & friendly.  What a great team. If you want to stay a little bit out of Greater London, in nice accommodation,  with beautiful surroundings this definitely is the place to be. Dogs are also welcome here and the path in between the Thames river & Hotel is great for dog walks. I would like to thank all at Mercure London Staines for looking after me & my family. Highly recommended 👍

The Mercure London Staines Upon Thames Hotel is situated on the bank of the river Thames and is a couple minutes walk from Staines town centre, the staff have been helpful and friendly whenever I have stayed. However the hotel is in need of a complete renovation, it feels very dated. The rooms are big enough but the decor is out of date, and can swing from too hot to too cold from room to room. The food is OK at breakfast and dinner, but with a good few restaurants on the high street it's better to eat out. There is plenty of potential to make the place great and will have to do something to compete with the soon to open Premier Inn.

Whilst our room was only ok the view we had was amazing, and this is where the good parts end. Everyday we came back to our hotel room the keys stop working, which is not normally a problem as you only need to go back to reception to reactivate the key but this hotel has no elevators. It has only one corridor leading you round the whole of the hotel. Making any trip to reception or the dining area a chore. The bed was really uncomfortable far too soft for my liking, at times it felt like I was sleeping on a trampoline. I almost forgot, the two gents that work in the dining area during breakfast were very friendly and very polite.

Great location. What you would expect for 3 star. Just a bit tired in places. Service great though.

The best feature of this hotel is the staff. They are warm, welcoming and always friendly. The hotel's location on the banks of the river Thames, being in the centre of town and the free parking, are additional bonuses. Good choice of breakfast.
