OT Staff and the Chaplain staff were very helpful for my needs. The Art groups were fun and allowed me to think differently about my life. Not the most comfortable place for the faint hearted at all, You have to be quite strong about your own sense of self, I just pray that everyone there currently get the blessings they rightly deserve, it's not for the faint hearted.
With held anti sickness meds for a week resulting in me bursting all blood vessels in my stomach and loosing two stone. Worst hostpital I’ve ever been in
My daughter hazey is in mulberry lodge at the moment . 21/01/2022. The staff are so lovely and careing . My daughter has post partum psychosis .and has been hallucinating and hearing voices for some time as well as having paranoid thoughts that someone will hurt her baby . As soon as we walked through the doors we were met with people who understood . Even had lunch ready for us as we live over 2 hrs away . As there were no beds in units near us. They have started her on a different anti psychotic meds and shes meetiy ng therapist today. My hazey suffered for years with health issues and has had to be sectioned in some horrendous mh units in kent where they don't give a toss . Melberry lodge is completely different . So if u have the opportunity to go there to get better. Please go cos you are treated with kindness and respect and they want you and you're babto be and feel safe . Xx
No therapeutic care available in this unit. Most areas are mixed gender so survivors of gender based violence will find this traumatic and feel constantly unsafe. Staff speak to you for a couple of minutes each day otherwise you are ignored. I would recommend for purposes of recovery that people stay well away from this unit as this isn't the place for you.
I informally admitted myself on Thursday into Melbury Lodge, so many failings from minute i was admitted. Bags searched in office not in front of and the list goes on, complaint will be filed to PALS for investigation on the appaling treatment i received there. This will be highlighted!
