Such great staff at Mayow veterinary surgery, would highly recommend to friends, family and anyone else. My pet Kaiia was very nervous at first as it was her first visit ever, but the staff were excellent and calmed her immediately. Reliant, quick, efficient and highly professional 11/10. Thanks again :-
Biscuit saw the vet Angie and Kate the nurse for a post op check, they were fantastic with her! As was Toni in reception. Mayow vets always take great care of my cats, a huge thank you to the team!
When we found a lump on the leg of our Cocker Spaniel dog Freya we looked and asked around and were recommended to use these vets. We spoke to Toni Willoughby, she was extremely reassuring and helpful in getting us an appointment at very short notice. After all the help Toni gave us I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Call vets as an emergency they were lovely and a same day appointment arranged. I called in the evening to so very impressed. Lovely receptionist very helpful quicly seen from waiting area.vet lovely and really made me feel at ease. Very happy with my outcome. I have gone to vets before and you end up hundreds of pound later being treated for a totaly different thing. Great place will defo go back again.
If you care for your pet I would stay away from this practice. After suspecting that my chihuahua had become pregnant unintentionally I brought her to this practice referred on from my registered vets of parish road who booked her in for a ultrasound. When arriving here we were told to come back as it was booked incorrectly. I brought her back in the following day and the ultrasound confirmed she was pregnant. The vet then offered an X-ray to determine how many pups there was as I was concerned that she was only a small dog. She explained that if it was not successful it wasn’t chargeable. They could not determine how many pups after doing it so I deemed that unsuccessful as this was the point of performing it, however they still wanted to charge. I explained I thought this was unfair and a few days later they said I could bring her in for another X-ray in a few weeks free of charge. When this time come I brought my little one back in, the vet completely put us off having it done saying it could harm the puppies I believe now they didn’t want to perform because they wasn’t getting paid I explained I was very concerned given her tiny size that she may struggle and I would like to know how many we was dealing with, at no point did the vet examine her. We didn’t go ahead with the X-ray because of her advice. That same week my little one went into labor and she started to struggle. It was Easter bank holiday and so we was referred to Mayow roads emergency vets at streatham hill. They explained they wanted over £3000 upfront for a c section which we simply didn’t have. By the time we found another practice to help us and got her there she passed away along with all her puppies. I truly believe that if the vet had examined her that week or performed the X-ray they might have seen that she was going to need help. She could have had a planned c section whilst she was still strong and not try to extort over £3000 for an emergency one. I 100% blame this vets practice as all they are interested in is money. I am completely heartbroken along with my children and I am in no doubt that this practice neglected my dog and her pups and it resulted in her and her puppies deaths. I would give zero stars if possible. I will be making a complaint on to whatever organization I need to this week to take it further.
My older dog i have two has had a few problems in the last couple of years. One particular vet is really outstanding with him but all have been lovely with him. The receptionists are very friendly and it is a pleasure going there. I do the plan for both dogs which means I get 10% off everything and the flea, treatment, jabs and healthchecks for one monthly payment each.
After having a bad experience at another veterinary surgery, we found Mayow and managed to get a next day appointment through their online booking system for our cat Teddie. We had to make the devastating choice to put her to sleep. Everyone involved was just so caring, didn't pressure us into a decision, and allowed us a lot of time with our little lady before she went. One of the receptionists even offered me a hug as I was leaving since I was very upset. We were given the option to have an ink paw print from our Teddie as a keepsake, and we recieved it in the post a few days later along with a handwritten card offering their condolences. I highly reccomend Mayow Vets to all pet owners. The process of putting a pet to sleep can be traumatic and heartbreaking, but Mayow helped to make the process a lot easier and it feels like they genuinely cared.
Our little Teddy loves the vets because of the amazing staff! He gets tasty treats and so much attention. He had his jab and microchip today, and when the vet Eliza, who was fab brought him back to us he was wagging his tail! Clearly he got plenty of love from the vet and nurses. Really knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Highly recommend. Here's a pic of him with his fave receptionist, Kate : Edit: We went in today to ask about food and had a long and lovely chat with one of the nurses called Georgie - what an awesome human! Super helpful and informative. We are so impressed with Mayow Vets in Sydenham :
Incredibly friendly and caring staff. I was originally with vets4pets thinking because of there name I will get the best experience but that wasn’t the case. All they was concerned about was doing more and more tests misinforming me and costing me a ton of money meanwhile my cat was getting no better. From the moment I phoned Mayow Road they told me to come down immediately. They were so friendly and caring towards me and my cat and gave me the answers I was looking for. And is much better priced than vets4pets aswell. They will be my regular vet now and could not recommend them enough.
Wish I had found this veterinary years ago. We attended on a Sunday, unfortunately it was decided that in Ruby's best interests it was time to rest and sleep. They made her so comfortable, we had a room to ourselves to say our final goodbye, we weren't rushed and everyone was so helpful. If we decide to have another dog, they will definitely be come to Mayow veterinary. Such kind caring people.
