Matt’s Kitchen offers a simple menu of a single ‘dish of the day’ along with a selection of yummy starters and delicious desserts. This straightforward approach makes it possible to serve delicious food at affordable prices.

We also operate a bring-your-own-booze policy (corkage £3 a bottle) so you can enjoy a great meal out without breaking the bank.

Had the most amazing 3 course last night. What an experience! Lovely intimate setting and Matt literally opens up his home to welcome a select few. Lovely staff and Matt is a delight to chat to. He spends the time to speak to you on your table, and if your lucky, he might even show you his kitchen. It felt like visiting a friend for a meal, except the friend cooks Michelin star food. If you haven't been, stop thinking about it, just book and go now if you enjoy delicious, well crafted flavours. Looking forward to seeing what's on the menu next month. Don't forget it's BYO, which is great being able to bring along your favourite drink. Keep up the amazing work Matt and the rest of the team. We look forward to coming back soon to support local again in another month or so.
What a place. A different seasonal menu each month where you get everything listed, and it's BYO The service and atmosphere was beyond expectations. Matt greeted us at the door and went on to explain each dish as it came out. I emailed prior to the meal to ask if a candle could be put in my husband's dessert for his birthday... Every course featured a candle. Brilliant! The food was of course out of this world. Stunning flavours and all presented beautifully. I cannot recommend Matt's Kitchen enough. Came for dinner tonight - walked through the door to be greeted by Matt himself…absolutely lovely! We’d never been before as only visiting on holiday - what a superb find. Lovely intimate surroundings and felt very special kind of romantic. Matt has totally nailed it. He’s charming, funny and a brilliant host as well as chef! The food is inventive, delicious and proper high end cooking. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks for a lovely experience!
My wife, brilliantly, booked Matt's Kitchen to celebrate my 50th birthday. It really was the perfect choice. The dining experience is unique, the welcome warm and the food, well, simply divine. Matt is a superb host, fun, warm and friendly, and his passion for his food is obvious. We had three sublime courses, each introduced with an explanation of what we were about to enjoy. And enjoy we did. Each course was a taste sensation, generous in their portion size and flavours. The atmosphere in the restaurant is friendly, comfortable, unique and original. For the quality of the dishes and the personal service, it really can't be beaten. I cannot recommend Matt's Kitchen enough.
What an amazing evening we had at Matt’s kitchen on Friday evening. The food was just deliciously beautiful. The atmosphere was genial as we chatted to two lovely ladies sitting on the next table and also the table behind. It was a surprise booking by my lovely husband that was a fun memorable evening. Matt was a superb attentive host. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I enjoyed a childless weekend in Bruton and spent our first evening out to dinner at Matt's Kitchen. Every part of our visit was perfection, from the warm greeting right up to final goodbye from Matt, himself. The food was exquisite, every mouthful was unbelievable. I would have booked us in for the Saturday if Matt hadn't been fully booked. It's a set menu each month but yes, the food was that good that I'd have eaten it all over again the very next day. Matt and his team are the perfect hosts, the restaurant is so warm and comforting. Being able to BYOB gave it that extra feel of relaxation... as though we'd hired a charming personal chef! Do not hesitate to book Matt's Kitchen. We will be returning to Bruton and our first stop will be Matt's Kitchen!
Had the most gorgeous evening with Matt & his lovely team. Can’t recommend his wonderful place more highly. Food made with love & care. attentive service, Fabulous setting, absolutely loved the decor, the artwork & his honouring of the unique character of thimble cottage. Definitely a dining experience to be savoured from a genuine host that truly deserves his reputation. Thank you Matt for sharing your home, you are a legend. We will return. My husband and I went to Matt's Kitchen last night after a long week of work. It was just what the soul ordered. Food was thought out, flavours were fantastic and made with the best ingredient, love! Matt's hosting was lovely and personable, we were late and he was very forgiving! The team he has is also lovely and personable, timely service while letting you sit and and his place has a very relaxed dinner vibe without being ushered out to turn tables over. Beautiful bathroom experience, all the stuff you see there is well thought out and as Matt chatted to us, he has taken his time to hone and has no wastage with food, and has organic hand towels. Lovely hosting, fantastic food, byo drinks. Really lovely Friday night, thanks Matt and team of ladies, you kicked of our weekend beautifully
Not fine dining in the traditional sense, but one of the very best dining dining experiences I’ve ever had! Probably best described as artisan food elevated to dizzying heights, packed full of wonderful flavours - all served in a cosy, romantic setting in Matt’s small but delightful dwelling on Bruton High Street. Matts hospitable welcome at the door, extends throughout the evening as he takes you on a culinary adventure, describing each course in detail as he delivers it to your table. All in all, a truly memorable evening - for all the right reasons! Thank you Matt, see you again….
