Massie Street East Car Park is a large car park just off Cheadle High Street, it is operated by the local council and is right outside a Sainsbury’s Local. It’s a pretty good car park, as it has a good number of spaces, with the lines clearly visible and EV charging.nnThe short-term parking rates are very reasonable. At the time of writing, the rates were 70p for up to 2 hours and £2 for up to 3 hours, although longer stays do have a large jump up to £6.50 all day. Parking is free after 6 pm, and blue badge holders can park for up to three hours for free during the day.nnI did notice an issue with the ticket machines on my most recent visit. I went to two machines, which were both out of order; so it feels like they’re trying to push people towards using apps to pay, but all in all, it’s a pretty decent car park in a central location to use when visiting Cheadle.
Last year, I tried using the pay-and-display machine closest to the school, but it did not work and ate my money twice with no change given. With no money left, I had to park on a side street. When I returned a week later, I used the machine closest to Massie Street, which worked fine.nnUpdate:nA valid ticket must be displayed on the dashboard between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday. At all other times, including Sundays and Bank Holidays, parking is free.nnOn the pay-and-display machine, there is a Blue Badge symbol allowing badge holders to park for free in ANY bay for up to three hours.
Considerable space for a car park Not too big and not too small. Pay and display by using coins or pay by phone if you download the app RingGo. The prices are better than other car parks as 2 hours is for 0.70p which is great because it’s near to cheadle medical center and plenty of restaurants around the corner. It’s clean and many machines are there for paying. There are spots for family parking and others for blue badgesI wouldn’t say it’s totally safe as I saw on the floor glass broken although there are CCTV cameras around.

In common with other car parks, spaces are too small for larger modern cars and you will need a visit to the ding doctor afterwards. I like the RingGo App payment system which is very convenient once initially set up via your phone.
