I have an allergy to gluten and msg, the latter being very serious and will be housebound for a couple of days with what feels like the worst hangover/food poisoning ever. I had heard from a friend that Massala Bay was really good and their website/menu clearly invites people to ask about allergies over the phone so I gave them a call. Unfortunately when I asked about MSG the gentleman on the other side was very rude/curt when basically saying "we order our spices premade, we don't know what's in them so I advise you to not buy from us" (then attempting to just hang up) I order from takeaways and eat out regularly for everything from date night to when you are just out far from home and need to fill up. Everyone I talk to pretty much is very nice, polite and helpful when it comes to helping me with my enquiries. This is the first time I've ever had someone all out just tell me to go away and also say "it would take too much of my time to go through the ingredients and know this, if the law changes for msg then I guess we'll have to look into it" It isn't just the words but the diction used that was really bothersome. If you have allergies outside of the normal shellfish, eggs, soy, gluten etc then I just wouldn't bother even trying to politely talk to them. It's really sad and not something I've had happen before........

Masala Bay is the Indian takeaway that we ALWAYS use. Although sometimes the food does take longer to arrive, this is understandable considering how they must be terribly busy- It is well worth the wait, food is hot and the taste is outstanding!
