You really can't walk away from Martin's after trying their mutton and butter chicken rolls without thinking about when you can go back to get more. They are so perfectly crispy, packed with so much flavour and at such a great price point. Every single bite is truly better than the last. I definitely need to go back and try other delicious options on their menu! Fast, friendly and authentic service!
If you really need to taste the authentic Sri Lankan Mutton flavors, please visit Martins. The variety of mutton rotties, roles, Kottu, biriyani and others are insane. Even the chicken rotties and biriyani are super delicious. The best part is, you can talk in either Sinhala or Tamil to place your order, which gives you the Sri Lankan feeling. Sugar buns and cream buns are not recommended as they are not harder than the Sri Lankan style buns. Staff is friendly and quick to serve without letting you to stay in the queue for a long time. Pretty pleasant interior with ample parking, depending on the availability during the rush hours. Keep up the quality food and the service. Would be great if there's a dine in area as well.
Some of my favourite Sri Lankan Rolls are from Martin’s. Can’t go wrong with the fish, veg or mutton. A lot of other good Sri Lankan Tamil short eats too. A popular spot so it does get busy at times, but the line moves quick.Food: 5/5
The bakery is good and a lot options . All the bakery options look fresh . The mutton in rolls were done good. The mutton tasted good and fresh . The spice level is good too .Food: 4/5
Legendary place. Well known for having the best mutton rolls in the GTA and anove average Kothu. Mutton rolls are soft and the filling is perfect with chewy mutton pieces. The rolls are thick. Their bread loaves are the definition of home made bread, puts Wonder bread and Weston to shame. There’s usually a line up at this place. So that should tell you all you need to know. Recently renovated, and they appear to have an electonic ordering kiosk in the works. Everything here is excellent. The ownerd here definitely monitor quality and the seeing the food trays replenished with hot batches is a common sight. Suggestions for out of towners looking to try Sri Lankan Tamil food: 1. Mutton rolls 2. Spicy kothu 3. Butter chicken patty 4. Spiced peanuts or cashews 5. Muruku Vegetarian options: There are several vegan pastries and snacks like spiced nuts, muruku, potato patties, and breads Parking: Free parking in a well lit lot that is surrounded by other open-late businesses and situated on a busy stretch of Markham road. Kid-friendliness: Aside from the cartoon of the chef, this may not be the best place to bring kids along as lineups can sometimes be ling, the interior waiting space is small. Wheelchair accessibility: The front door is extremely difficult to open and is not wheelchair friendly
their butter chicken rolls 12/10 - love them every time and their kothu roti and other shorteats/appetizers/snacks are always a solid choiceFood: 4/5
If you want the freshest tasting baked goods, come here. I had the cake and it was so light, fluffy and delicious. It's not too sweet either.Food: 5/5
I live in Newmarket and granted I don’t have a lot of South Indian options here. But whenever I am in Scarborough I will make sure to pick up mutton rolls. They are super spicy even for me someone who love spice. But they are full of meat unlike a lot of other places which hardly have meat in them. I haven’t tried anything else really. But these o highly recommend!
Full flavor mutton kothu rotti. Decent meat portion / price ratio.Food: 5/5
Let’s be real here. Best mutton roll in the city. Recommend eating straight away in the parking lot for optimal freshness and goodness!Food: 5/5
