I really want to give Marsden Grotto a positive review. The place is lovely, they’ve made a real effort on the decor. The staff and chef were helpful and friendly. The chef was great making sure we had a gluten free option for one of our party. However, the rest was very frustrating. It wasn’t terribly busy, but it still took ages to order lunch and drinks, took ages for the food to come, dishes sat on tables so new people arriving had to stack them out of the way. Ordering a second round of tea took exceptionally long and we offered to reuse our old cups as there were no clean ones available. The food was decent, but the service really needs attention as the overall experience wasn’t positive.

What a lovely experience to have dinner in a cave!! That is what the Marsden Grotto offers. Fantastic atmosphere set up, especially if you walk along the coast to your dinner! The food was amazing and the décor was wondering. The only problem was, as noted in other reviews, the service. The food took exceptionally long (over an hour) to arrive and we had to go round to the bar to get our second round of drinks as we had not seen a waiter in a long time. Hoping this is something the staff will fix as other than that, the place was amazing.

Pleasantly surprised by just how lovely this place is, even on a very cold, snowy day in March!! Can't wait to see it on a warmer day - the views of the sea are outstanding. Staff were friendly and the food was really good. Excellent selection of drinks from the bar. Will definitely be back.

Interesting bar/restaurant. Only had coffee but staff friendly and coffee good. Visited in March but would imagine a summer visit would be amazing with a great beach just outside the door. Very fond memories of this area from my childhood.

A pleasantly surprising little find. Lovely food and drinks in a very unique setting in caves overlooking the sea. Well worth a visit if you are in the area and in need of refreshments.
