Nice original style pub. It's offering a few craft ales at reasonable prices. The food is very good with a wide selection. It's a popular place, with pleasant and friendly people.

I was here a good 6 - 9 months ago and found food was very very nice for the prices, but went recently and was completely let down, the choice on the menu and the presentation. I don't think you can really grumble for what you pay but I didn't enjoy the food at all. Other than that it is a nice little place and spacious.

Food was good but let down by poor atmosphere and rude staff they get annoyed if you go in with kids for food I went past the sign what I didn’t see saying no kids past this point and got a load of grief for it off the staff I said sorry I didn’t see the sign il move to his response well theirs no point now just do what you want you have anyway then kept making snide remarks when I went for drinks(soft drinks) about where I was sitting not recommended

Perfect steaks, lush pint, great atmosphere, would recommend. If ordering a sundae order a kids one coz they are the same size. Delicious tho

Just been to the Fountain for my tea with my family at south shields and i must say what a lovely and frendly place the seivice we had was so good that i would tell all my frends and family to go it was so nice thank you to all the staff at the fountain Mrs B Murphy
