The cafe is first class, however recently the quality of their coffee has deteriorated, as even a flat white is no longer worth drinking as it tastes weak and flavourless compared to a few weeks ago. Pity because their coffee used to be excellent. Hope this is a temporary blip as this is the second time the coffee has been poor.
Had a bra fitting today and Trudie was great and we got the correct size in the end but I am was flabbergasted that they can no longer use a tape measure and have to do it by sight. PC gone too far I think.
The only reason we keep coming back to this branch is because we love the affordable breakfast/brunch in this area. The actual cafe experience leaves much to be desired...nnOur last trip there, I sent my wife to find a table and I checked the time when I finally sat down. It took 30 minutes for me to get to the front of the queue there were two queues, order, pay, receive my drinks and sit down. In fact, the food got to my table before I'd even managed to get there. The frustrated faces of other customers around me showed me I was not alone in feeling this way.nnThe method that M&S adopts, which is to have the same member of staff take orders and make drinks on a busy Saturday brunch time is just ridiculous. Making customers wait at the tills to pick up their drinks while a queue forms behind them is silly to begin with as it causes unbearable delays, especially when someone orders drinks for their entire party and is stood there waiting for 5 minutes to collect their order before the next person can order. Surely it makes more sense to focus on getting the queue down by either having drinks served as food comes out so that customers aren't literally being served their food whilst still IN line I saw this happen twice, or focus on taking orders and payments, and then having a collection queue for drinks, or asking customers to wait in a different location.nn30 minutes is just too long when there are 5 people in front of you.
Ladies toilet has only cold water to wash hands, we know this because ladies queue is always long and it's never warm water...saving money M and S? Shame on you. Staff shortage, have to greet customers at the door in freezing temperatures when they could be at the tills. Coffee always luke warm, apparently set at a safe temperature...perhaps to save money again. Sorry to diss but can't help feeling M and S couldn't give a stuff about staff or customers despite what they state.
This used to go at this M&S for full English breakfast. They have a lovely sitting area on the top floor with a lovely view to the car park and other shops. Although I no longer work near Broadstairs, I have learned that M&S breakfast is not to be unde rated. It has good taste and presentationwise is a straight 10 out of 10.nnAt one point, I switched from full English breakfast to mashed avocado on toast with eggs and bacon in because, as they say, variety is the spice of life.
