This is a beautiful place to walk through. A place of calm seremity just off the busy hub that is Hammersmith. This picturesque location includes a chapel and two war memorials and is well maintained. Do check out the photos for a better view of what you can expect.
I don’t like to talk ill of a place where the dead are buried but in this occasion I must. This is no place for quiet contemplation as the council or the friends of the cemetery would have you think! It is full of bozos! People playing games and having massive gatherings, it is right by a major overpass which is very noisy, is in a flight path and it’s condition is poor! Normally an overgrown cemetery is a thing of beauty, but here it feels cheap and dirty! People hiding in the bushes and other shady characters. Just look at the image of the sign someone attempted to put up!! If you can’t put a sign straight with cable ties then what can you do! The place feels poor, neglected, broken and sullen! I feel woe and despair being in here and my mood utterly crestfallen! One or two graves are very pretty in the way nature has claimed them but that’s it. The extremely oppressive architecture that surrounds the outside of the place fills it with a strong sense of doom. H&F council being as incompetent as they are have just slapped that title on the place for some reason. I am sure in its prime it was gorgeous and not filled with louts but today it is nothing more than a common unkept green space. The absolute Shame! If it were to be just a green space then that would be fine for people playing games etc, but as it is classed as a cemetery then it seems very uncouth to have such big events though the grounds.
A great place to walk through. Beautiful trees and plants. Historical tombs and WW1 and WW2 memorials.
This is excellent for on-lead dog walking and is home to foxes, squirrels and a variety of small birds including green parakeets.
It’s really calming walking through this place. At first I thought it was weird walking through a CEMETERY, but after a while, I got used to it. Plus it can be used as a short cut through to the hospital and to Normand park or somewhere in that direction. The opening and closing times are incorrect because as a matter of fact, I take a walk through this on weekdays after 4 o’clock.
Such a calm and restful little corner of green tucked away behind Charing Cross hospital. You can easily forget you’re in London when walking around amongst the tall grass, watching the squirrels and listening to the birdsong. It has been an invaluable space for local residents this last year.
Beautiful picturesque cemetery, also known as Hammersmith Cemetery. It's close to Baron's Court underground and behind the Charing Cross Hospital. It's stretched over 16 acres. It's a like a huge garden and hence also termed as 'Garden of Rest'.
Nice sized park where I used to walk my dog. It's generally clean and safe with a rich variety of plant life. It's very overgrown in parts so some of the plants can sting small dogs. Also there is a strict policy of not letting dogs off the leash.
It's a fairly nice cemetery that also functions as a park and a shortcut. It's open till dusk everyday and if you have a little extra time a walk around the graves can through up a few surprising little gems.
Great little green for a quiet walk and to help find calm away from the melee of the city, thankful for it, as it's much needed for when visiting the hospital
