It's a very good school in the way of teaching, but in the way of emotional support? Ha! Don't go there if you want to be emotionally stable.

My daughter graduated this summer from Marden High School and is now at Whitley Bay High School studying for her A levels. I just want to thank all the staff that have taught Freya Mamuji over the past 5 years as she has graduated with excellent GCSE results and is a confident young woman. Freya joined the school as a shy and withdrawn 11 year old. Marden wasn't her first choice of school but as we were out of the catchment area of her first choice, she had to go there. We had a very unsettled few months where we went through an appeal to see if we could get her moved to her first choice of school. I am so glad the appeal was turned down. Marden High School has been the making of Freya. By Christmas of her first term there, she had already made lots of new friends, and staff at the school made every effort to assist in her integration and settling in period. After a few months she informed me to give up on the appeal as she didn't want to be anywhere else than Marden. Last night we had a lovely graduation ceremony whereby all of the GCSE students were presented with their certificates. The school and staff didn't have to go to these efforts - a lot of other schools simply post them out to the students but Marden isn't like other schools. I can't recommend this school and its staff enough. Thank you. Nicky Harrison
