Got a warm welcome from young man on desk. He was also helpful with parking suggestions. We were seated quickly. Loo's were clean. Restaurant likewise good standard of cleanliness. The starter of calamari was a decent portion size although would if preferred a lighter batter. Mains included a American style burger which was tasty and the meat was of good quality. The rigatoni my wife had was likewise tasty and well seasoned. The tram Isuzu was very nice. This was done on a Groupon and I would recommend it at this price. Venue is chill and music decent. The main thing beyond the food was the service by the guy on the desk who also waited on us, he was excellent. Tyler the other waiter was also friendly and helpful. I'd say try the place, we didn't experience any of the negative aspects mentioned in other previous reviews.
The food was really good and very reasonable priced. However the service needs to be very much improved. We waited 10 minutes to be shown to our table. We ordered a side portion of sweet potato fries that never arrived. We were only aware that cocktails were 2 for 1 by hearing our waitress tell the next table, service for drinks was at a snail pace and to top it off the bill was wrong, with very inflated service charge. If you were to go I would recommend you look out for Lauren as your waitress as she was very attentive, unlike the girl who served us.
Lunch specials a great value for money. The meatballs are highly recommended. Excellent service.
Had an afternoon tea. Was very nice got a glass of champagne included. Table service was great. We aren't coffee drinkers but you got offered coffee afterwards, but we ordered hot chocolate and there was no additional cost which I thought was very nice. It could quite easily be the kind of place that tries to charge a lot of money but they didn't. Very modern, smart and clean. Would like to go back for a meal. We've had a few afternoon teas at other places and this one was very nice but not the best we've had. But the great service and modern venue made it!
Thank you for an amazing experience ! Marco's now has a new management team who certainly know what they are doing and how to provide impeccable service. We have visited Marco's a few times now and this visit was by far the best. The atmosphere and service are second to none, the place would fit in well in the heart of London's Mayfair !. For me a restaurant isn't just about the food, its the complete package that makes a night out special and memorable ! The food was cooked to perfection and we took the recommendations of our polite and enthusiastic waiter. We had a couple of visits from John the restaurant manager who took the time to explain his passion and drive for the place. we will be back and we have told all that we know about the place.
Second time we have been. The first time we tried and had just opened so not that good. Thought we would try again as herd it had got better. Sorry to say the food we have at home is much better. Had the steak and had a metal taste and not cooked to my request. Asked for med to rare and it came blue. Will not be going again even though the cocktails went down a treat. Very disappointed and only gave to stars for cocktails as the service wasn't that good either.
The starters were huge....perhaps too big. The mains were very tasty and the dessert small. Quite a strange setup in a hotel with several guests wishing to sit in the restaurant which the staff did well to manage. I also thought it was slightly too cold to the point where my wife sat with a scarf on all night. Double gin and tonic was £10. Reasonable but still too pricey in my opinion. Overall the staff were great, the food very good but the temperature and cost of extras were where it lost points. With a little more thought it could be a 5
Three of us ate there twice last week - the second time to give it a second chance, purely because it's a restaurant owned by a famous chef. It's not good. The pork ribs don't taste great, the salmon steak was very bland, the chocolate-cookie special was also nothing to wrote home about. The starters were nice. The staff weren't enthusiastic about the food go to any Jamies restaurant to see what good table service is. Also very over-priced we didn't mind because we billed it on company expenses. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid for it out of my own pocket.
We visited Marco’s last night for the first time expecting above average food at an above average cost. The food was average at its best but the bill was still for above average food. We had the New York sharing platter to start with which was tasty but as a sharing platter I was expecting more than one potato skin an even number of chicken wings, we got three!! The rest of the meal was nice and tasty although we were never asked how our food was!! Maybe this is due to fear of a complaint or issue. I was hoping to come away from Marco’s happy to recommend it to friends and family but unfortunately I won’t. Shame. I did try to rate it 2.5 out of 5 but couldn't so the three stars is slightly generous.
Nice experience! The service at Marco’s in Sheffield was excellent considering I had a big group of 24+. The staff are very friendly and the food came out within a good time. The food was pretty standard for what you are paying for I would say, I ordered from the set menu burger and tiramisu. Would I come back? If I have a big group, yes because there aren’t many restaurants in Sheffield in the city centre that can cater for such big groups I think?
