"Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill London Angel and Kings Cross is located at the DoubleTree by Hilton Angel Kings Cross, which is just a short walk from Angel tube station. Marco’s restaurant concept is all about offering good, quality food at affordable prices in a glamorous setting. As you would expect, the Steakhouse will offer a great range of steaks in addition to some of Marco’s signature dishes. These include his classic starters of French onion soup, beetroot & goats’ cheese salad to his fried haddock served with triple cooked chips as well an entrecote of veal mains. Marco’s dishes are traditional and uniquely recognisable through his art of cooking British cuisine using French techniques."

Went to the restaurant after pre-booking. Was told on the phone that the last orders are at 9pm. Why? So people don't eat there after 9pm. Dumbfounded. Got there at 9pm and had to wait for 10 minutes which was odd as it was almost empty with just one table of 6 being served. Then waited 10 minutes for the order to be taken after hailing the waitress. Meal, fish and chips, cheesecake, was brought in 15 minutes which was a great turnaround. Fish and chunky chips were actually quite nice although fish could have been cooked about 2 minutes longer so less soft batter layer. Mushy peas were bland and uninspiring however being hungry by 10pm being served meant eating whatever was served. The interior was very dimly lit. No idea if this is because of the energy costs or some art experiment by Marco!
We have been to a MPW steakhouse Co and liked it so much we asked friends for a voucher to attend another MPW restaurant. The difference from the second we arrived was stark. We had a £100 voucher and got a quality we would have expected from a wetherspoons. Waited 10m to be seated before then being put in a corner facing the road. The wine we ordered they then didn't have because they blamed supplier issues due to covid. They then said all they have is a cheaper bottle that wasn't even on the menu and seemed like it had been borrowed from the bar next door. We asked if they had cocktails like the website said but they said covid meant they don't do any at all any more. We then ordered burgers with bbq glaze and ketchup as a sauce on it, but only wanted one with the bbq glaze and the other without. When they arrived we asked which was which and they said they didn't know, then changing this answer to 'none come with bbq glaze because of covid' The burgers we got both had neither and for some reason had Mayonnaise on. We tried to still enjoy it as we know how good the sticky toffee pudding was from the other time we went to the MPW restraunt. When that arrived it was the same as a school dinner cake and was not even close in taste or presentation to the one we had last time. All in all we still were unable to spend the full 100 voucher and when we explained how upset we were for all the issues we had they just gave us a hot chocolate to leave with. Overall just a really upsetting experience made worse by the fact we have been looking forward to it for the last two weeks as what we expected was a treat we cannot normally afford which is why we asked for a voucher as a present. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend. Surprised something with MPW name on can be able to continue when that's the level offered. Pictures are of the burger which was poor quality as well as the difference in pudding between the sticky toffee we had on first visit London Steakhouse and the one we got this time. The lack of service was nothing short of a shambles! I would have given it a 1 but the food was not that bad and saved this score from the lowest possible. DO NOT VISIT. The wait time in between courses was a joke and to get some water took nearly 30 mins. No acknowledgment or apology for the the fact that we were there for over 3 hours. The front of house staff need some serious training.
We brought a BUYAGIFT VOUCHER and after reading the reviews on the restaurant we had low expectations we rang many times and couldn’t get through to redeem our voucher. That being said we went anyways with fingers crossed. We was greeted by a young waitress who couldn’t be more helpful we had a lovely seat in middle of the restaurant. And they gave us an alternative menu 3 courses every course from the first to the last was absolutely beautiful well Presented and very tasty. Didn’t have cocktails but had lovely alternative drink. Was not rushed out didn’t pay for any extras as the meal deal was enough for us and I’m a large lad. And if you did want Extras then clearly Stated on menu. Wasn’t happy with the cheese cake but really enjoyed the cheese board. Will be going back for the Hilton stay and definitely going back for the full menu highly recommend thank you for an amazing night.
Not the standard I was expecting. Was charged £1 each person just to sit down.. Which was odd. The selection of food was poor, most of the main courses I would have chosen included a large supplement to pay on top of our 3 courses voucher. Service charge was also added to our voucher which I felt was cheeky, service charge should not be added but optional. I could also hear the waiting staff swearing and talking about another customer which was unprofessional. Would much rather spend the extra and go to a better quality restaurant.
A disaster. A confused waitress, a constant pressure to order before an apparent unspoken closing time and despite four of us sitting at the table; only 3 plates arrived and no apology or deduction given. Food was at the level of weatherspoons, but prices up there won’t Gordan Ramsay. Needs a senior management meeting, and soon, to sort out this poorly run restaurant bearing Marco’s name.
Do not bother Angel Location! Possibly one of the worst steak dishes I have ever had! Completely tasteless, the king prawns were not fresh or well prepared and the chips ended up being undercooked in the middle. Alarm bells should have rung when I was the only person in the restaurant at 19:30 on a Thursday. Poor quality but premium price, I suspect I would have enjoyed a Wetherspoons steak more! Would score the food lower if I could. The service was pretty slow considering I was the only person in the place. It's hard to score the atmosphere, it's nice but the lack of people and noise from the room service trolleys detract alot.
Staying at attached hotel for work. Food - Alex James burger with chips, side macaroni cheese. - Burger was very dry and lukewarm, likely been reheated or sitting in the pass for a while. Chips lukewarm also. Macaroni cheese was underseasoned. Service - Very very slow. Maybe 4 other people when I was sat down, which was then between 5 - 10 minutes before I was even given a menu. Then about a 45-55 minute wait for my food which as mentioned above was very underwhelming. Only ate it all as it was my only meal today due to work commitments; so was rather hungry .
My dinner was on time and very delicious! Professionally staff ! Thank you Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is one level down from ground floor and they have a big wheelchair lift !
It was OK just OK. Was expected to be wowed. Fish and chips with mushy peas and a upgraded sirlion steak cooked medium. Steak was a little tough. Was just bulk standard dining. Miller and Carter would have done better.Food: 3/5
