I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Valentine's evening meal at this restaurant and I must say, it was a truly fantastic experience. The food was absolutely superb and it's clear that the new chef has brought a new level of talent and expertise to the kitchen. From the starters to the desserts, every dish was crafted with care and attention to detail. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful. The standout dish for me was the trio of desserts - it was an absolute delight to savor each bite. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. The ambiance was warm and cozy, with just the right amount of romance in the air. I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend my Valentine's evening. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a first-class dining experience. With its amazing food and exceptional service, it's a true gem in the culinary world. I'll definitely be returning to try more dishes by the talented new chef. Well done to the whole team!
I booked a table for family to celebrate my sisters birthday 10/11/22 the food was beautiful and the servers are friendly and professional. We love the decor of each room, its a lovely place to go. Highly recommended
Just eaten Sunday Lunch here, it was very....very good! I had the Beef and my wife the Pork. The Sticky Toffee pudding and custard for desert was the perfect finish to a traditional Sunday Roast. Hats off to the Chef. The building itself is stunning with several different areas to eat in. There is a great selection of hand pulled ales or draught premium largers to suit any palette. We will be visiting again very soon and I would recommend these to anyone.
Had a meal here on the way back to Oxfordshire from Whitby and it was a lovely place to stop for some food. The owner was doing the front of house and the serving and he was doing a brilliant job of it. He was so friendly and made us feel really welcome. The interior decor was really well thought out and unique from the front door to the toilets. The food was absolutely amazing and everyone else’s on the other tables looked great as well, especially the steak. Have favourited to come back sometime!
We could not fault our evening at The Cadeby Inn 01/09/2022 . It was a last minute booking as the restaurant I’d originally booked texted late in the day to say that, as there was only one other table booked for Thursday they were shutting the restaurant. Not everyone sees texts - I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t ring to cancel. Felt a bit like a cop-out. Anyway it was such a great night at The Cadeby Inn that I soon forgot the other place. We had the Cadeby Sharing Charcuterie as a starter? which was enormous - but oh, so delicious. Warmed artisan bread, lots of interesting cut meats, 2 cheeses Yorkshire Blue & Bavarian Smoked - we asked ! , gherkins, salad, sun-dried tomatoes etc. I had to make a conscious effort to not eat all of my half as I’d ordered the steak and ale pie & mash ! In fact we both did and the pies didn’t disappoint. Lovely crisp pastry, LOTS of big chunks of steak and a delicious ale gravy. Really hot too. 10 out of 10. The ambience was first class too. Music was “our” era not too loud not too quiet. And we both found the quirky decor amusing. We had a young blonde waitress, who couldn’t do enough for us. She took our photo using my iPhone, as it was our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The Cadeby had not been our first choice for such an important celebration, but it will definitely be next time. Thanks to all of the front of house staff and to the team in the kitchen.
This is somewhere we have been on many occasions and enjoyed the food and ambience. This is the first time we have been since the pandemic and unfortunately it is not what it used to be. The staff are still lovely, attentive and helpful. The location is beautiful with a lovely atmosphere and the cleanliness is to a super high standard. Sadly some of the food is not what it was and could do with a little attention to detail ..... maybe a relish with the burger and a sauce with the chicken and a little less overcooked. Saying that the pie was amazing. I would go again but a little attention to the menu would enhance the whole experience.
We decided to have a walk for Sunday lunch with the dogs who are welcome in the bar area and we opted to have 2 mains for £30.00 as we didn’t want a pudding or starter. I had the beef sirloin and my husband had the beef brisket, both very tasty and tender, good selection of vegetables, think they could have been a little more as I only got 2 small rounds of carrot, the Yorkshire pudding was massive and the extra gravy was nice. Service and staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed it and would return and recommend
Another beautiful meal at The Cadeby. Had Sunday lunch & was to be fair the best we've had anywhere in a long time. Brocoli & cheese soup to start which was out of this world followed by belly pork, mash, roast, massive homemade Yorkshire pudding & huge bowl of fresh seasonal vegetables. Finished off with cheese & biscuits hats off to the chef it was a fantastic lunch, he/she is definitely a keeper!!
Very nice place and atmosphere. The service from the staff was welcoming and outstanding. The food was ok but not particularly amazing. I would go again but more because of the nice atmosphere.
Staff were friendly, food was average. I have been several times and always find the food to be a bit hit and miss. Good drink selection and nice atmosphere.
