Me and my partner stayed for 2 nights and it was absolutely amazing! Food was lovely and great service! We didn’t visit the spa but we plan to on our next stay. The room was absolutely spotless and the beds were so comfy. Staff were friendly and nothing was any trouble. Thank you to you all, we can’t wait to visit again soon!! XxRooms: 5/5
We had a spa day. Helpful and friendly staff who gave us a warm welcome. Clean and relaxing facilities. Amazing afternoon tea, we had to ask for a doggy bag! The ladies gave great massages and were friendly and helpful. Would go again when in the area.Service: 5/5
We didn't stay at the hotel but are regulars for coffee. There's a lovely bar area with comfy sofas and an airy conservatory which is often a peaceful spot to enjoy a coffee. Room to get the pram in but no baby changing, although a private room is offered for use. Permanent staff are very friendly but we've been served by a couple of not-so-helpful staff too which is the only negative point about an otherwise enjoyable experience.
Really nice spa and treatment facilities. Staff were very friendly. Kitchen caters for veggie/vegan requirements. I believe the rooms and dog friendly too but we didn't use them so can't confirm. We will definitely be returning.Service: 5/5
Pros: The new mangeress there seemed fab. Very helpful & genuinely caring about the guests. The bar looks amazing and the grounds are pretty. It's picturesque. The room we booked was enormous. Cons: don't bother with breakfast. The staff are overwhelmed and clearly stressed. Watching the staff go back and fourth is genuinely stressful. We refrained from asking for stuff because of how the staff were coping. The bar was supposed to open 24/7 in the literature in our room. However a guest we arrived with was told the bar was closed, no explanation or info about when it would reopen. Aside from the new mangeress who was wonderful some of the staff really need to work on customer service skills. The hotel is a bit shabby-chic and the same could be said of some of the staff. The hotel has bags and bags of potential. But it needs some TLC and a review of how they interact with guests
Staff were friendly and welcoming, but some of the rooms were cold due to a heating issue, but they had heaters supplied to those. The bathroom we stayed in had a tiny showe screen, the water from shower went all over floor!! Also no where to put your toiletries as no shelf space. On a plus side, the newly refurbished restaurant, and toilets downstairs were top notch.
I would just like to say, Thank you for making me and Brody feel so special. Nothing was a problem, in fact above and beyond to make someone with a dog feel so welcome. The rooms were immaculate, this is a hidden treasure within the local surroundings. Amazing x
We booked a stay here as it seemed like one of the nicer places to stay in the area, we were up there to go see Kynren. Which is fantastic! This hotel is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful and the building is gorgeous, retaining many of its original features. And I'm sure it has an interesting history. We booked the rooms months ago in preparation to see Kynren, so we were surprised to find that our rooms were not only at opposite ends of the hotel but in completely different buildings. There was a wedding on at the time of our stay, which we presume was the reason for all of the things that we found unacceptable. We were made to feel like because we were just regular guests, and not part of the wedding we weren't important. Half the drinks we asked for at the bar weren't available because they'd apparently been sent down to the wedding bar. The main restaurant wasn't available because the room was being used for the wedding, we weren't aware of this at time of booking, or check in. So all we had available to us for food was a tiny room, with only a bar food menu. The food was okay, but we were expecting much more since they claim to have an award winning restaurant. Spa/pool access is only available if you want to pay an extra £15 per person! For 2 hours. The staff were friendly enough but were clearly preoccupied with the wedding. And I realise the wedding brings in more money for the hotel but if you're going to treat your other paying guests like an afterthought then maybe keep the hotel for the wedding party only, on those days.
Just got back from a wedding would like to say we'll done to the breakfast staff nothing was a bother to them but sadly the rest of the wedding day was spoilt no wedding planner turned up to show guests to the venue that was left to my self and my partners daughter had we not then there would have been no wedding the room had no heating in the bathroom was like a cold storage fridge tiled floors no heating in there the towel rails did not give enough heat to keep it warm was woken on the wedding by a fire alarm going off at 4:45 am so we had 7 very grumpy kids at the wedding the door way into our room had no carpet so meaning the whole door bar with grippers was exposed this is no good as we had small children with the wedding party the room is definitely not worth £180 per night only a travel kettle in the room so takes ages ti boil taps on the bath wrong way round very dangerous as the cold side of the tap was actually the hot bed was very nice to sleep in but for the rest was a joke we paid almost 500 for a buffet I could of gone to Iceland bought the stuff my self for a lot less very disappointed then to top it all off they came and took the food away it was only out half hour tops so lots of people didn't even get any food as they were in a rush to put it back in the kitchen I definitely wouldn't have another wedding in this place or stop I have photos of the state the room was in and this room had just been refurbished this is room number 1 by the way am not shy to let everyone know how poor the quality is in this luxury room the bridle suite was also cold with no heating this is room number 9 I have made a complaint about it we had 7 rooms in total I really Hope that every body reads this before booking a wedding here the main meal of the day was not worth it
Called for Sunday lunch family of 6. The dinner was horrid! It was luke warm. All of the veg cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, sugar snap peas were mixed together in a big bowl. Only two slices of meat. We paid £16.95 for an adult. For this I would definitely expect something special! Worst Sunday lunch we've ever had.Service: 3/5
