lovely host called Debbie, room was quaint and nice n clean, breakfast was very very good and the chef definitely knew how to cook eggs
Cheap rates and pretty basic room facilities. Landlady a little brusque but friendly enough deep down. Rooms dated, but clean linen. Bed ok. Breakfast... Slightly stale cereal, sliced bread toast. Didn't try the cooked breakfast. But.... Good value for a cheap over night stop .Rooms: 2/5
Booked here as I was coming to the area for a friends wedding. Located in a stunning village. The staff are so welcoming and friendly made us feel very welcome. We only used our room to sleep in our room was freezing upon arrival but there was a small heater in the room to help fix that issue. We had zero signal whatsoever vodafone the TV only had radio channels but wasn't nothing to complain about as we don't really watch tv. Tea & coffee in the room was a added bonus and clean towels ect. Room was clean and fine for what we needed. Had a lovely breakfast in the morning before our big drive back home. All in all a nice stay thank you to the hosts for making us feel welcome
The room was freeezing and bedding and towels were damp, rip in the headboard, broken towel rail, we askd to move rooms because it was horrible and the lady said that she hated that room but it wasn't her pub! We moved rooms and at first glancy it looked better, then we started to unpack and there were dead flys all over the floor, drawing pins holding thr blind up and holes in the windows, dust where, my son started coughing and felt unwell so we left and drove home, at 10.45 at night frezing cold. We spent £65 on the room and were rotally disapointed by the accomidation and everything was locked up so we couldn't speak to anyone, we would like a refind as totally gutted as ruined our qeekend.
I spent three nights at the Manor arms and had a very pleasant stay. We had the only dog friendly room and paid £5 per night which I think is very reasonable as I’ve been charged that much on a campsite. A nice English breakfast and a comfortable room with satellite tv. The owner was very helpful and suggested a couple of places to visit including cider apple orchards a couple of minutes away and a good place to walk my dog. It’s located in a lovely village a couple of miles from Crewkerne.
Visited for a drink and very disappointed. Only one draft ale and one draft lagar on and neither very nice. They did have bottles of ale to choose from but very disappointed. No food. Only stayed for one. Shame because pub looked nice.Location: 3/5
The Manor Arms is an off-the-beaten track inn in the Somerset countryside. I was there to stay the night before a wedding. The hotel is reasonably good value and the rooms are comfortable, but no more. They have been tastefully decorated but at the same time are a squeeze. It had a bit of a budget feel to it with the bathroom quite obviously crammed into an existing room. The night's sleep was comfortable and the beds were great; a lot of light came in through the curtain though so I'd bring an eye mask if that bothered you. Service was pretty good and the breakfast was very good. They were, however, unable to cope with us wanting to sit near our friends who were with us and I felt like we were intruding on them. I imagine large groups of people might be unusual. All in all it depends what you're looking for as to whether this suits. If you need space or modern looking rooms with all the conveniences this isn't for you. But if you're looking for a great value place to stay in the countryside, perhaps as a stop off, this suits just fine.
A 4-star review became 5-star with the excellent Full English breakfast. Friendly hosts, nice room and a charming pub made it a good stay. A pleasant discovery.
Very disappointed with the room. Very icy reception in the pub when I tried to check in as I had my pet dog with me I'd notified them in advance. When they realised I was staying the ice thawed, slightly. Food adequate I wish I'd not bothered and found a chain hotel that allows dogs like Holiday Inn.
