Where do I start.. what a fantastic service Mr Mcjury gave me, from start to finish, with every question I asked, he answered. To walk away, with a new car and feel very satisfied is amazing. Never once felt stressed. Top job, good guy. All the best! Well worth your time if buying a new car.
Staff were polite and helpful. I waited on site while my car was in the workshop. The waiting area was quiet, warm and comfortable and the complimentary drinks were very welcome. The toilet facilities were very clean. The work on my car was completed promptly within the stated time frame. It was observed that the tread on two of the tyres was getting near to the legal limit and I was offered the option of getting these replaced without feeling under pressure to do so immediately. The complementary car wash and valet was much appreciated. Excellent service. I shall look forward to my next visit.
I turned up at Inchcape Volkswagen Exeter to look at a used Up! GTi, albeit unannounced and on a busy Saturday morning. Yet Philip the Salesman still managed to accommodate me and get me out on a test drive. The test drive was enough to convince me that I would like to purchase the vehicle, so I patiently waited two hours for Philip to become available to discuss the purchase. Now admittedly I’m old school and have also been in the trade in the past selling Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, so I already had an understanding of dealer margins, how the system works and what is usually possible to seal a deal. I was informed that there was no movement on the purchase price, so I asked for a few minor extras to be considered, very easy to accommodate given that they’re low cost and easy to absorb into the system. It’s something I did a lot when I was in commercial sales because if you’re prepared to go the extra mile to seal the deal, the customer will remember you another day, for all the right reasons…sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. This way the dealer gets full asking price and the customer, me in this case, gets a little sweetener, thus both parties feel happy and satisfied with the outcome. Unfortunately this wasn’t to be, despite Philip trying his best to sell the idea to his more senior colleague, who then tried to insult my intelligence and fob me off by saying that the margins are tight and prices are controlled by Volkswagen across all dealers. This apparently maintains pricing across all dealers at levels set by Volkswagen, I thought operating a cartel was illegal, a bit like faking exhaust emissions, eh Volkswagen? It’s also a little difficult to quantify this argument when the vehicle offered for sale is several hundred pounds more than similar specification vehicles at other Volkswagen dealers. Kudos to Philip for trying his best to seal the deal, zero kudos to his boss who appears to be just an order taker, unable to think outside the box and make things happen by letting a person such as myself, with cash to spend, walk out of the showroom in disgust. This experience could have been so much better, especially as I patiently waited for two hours with every intention of purchasing a vehicle…
Very happy with my new car from Inchcape VW Exeter, the staff we’re very helpful. The facilities were excellent, we test drove/sat in lots of different vehicles until we were happy that we’d found the one that we wanted.
The ladies at Reception were very welcoming and extremely efficient. Ben was brilliant! He kept me informed all the way through the process and couldn't have been more helpful. It appears, at this stage that the strange, quirky problem has been solved - let's hope it stays that way! Fully and thoroughly recommended.
In the short time I've been an Inchcape customer their service has been great. The attention to detail re the servicing of my Polo is what you would expect from a high profile VW main dealer. However on this occasion when returning to collect the vehicle there had built up a queue of customers waiting to collect their vehicles with the associated paperwork. There appeared to be no member of staff that Jodie could call upon as back up. This resulted in me having to wait for at least 30 minutes hence the four stars.
Fantastic service from start to finish. Brilliant and approachable sales assistant Martina with a good eye for detail and a welcoming and easy to talk to manner, made the whole process very straightforward. She even remembered how I like my coffee which is a plus : Very happy and pleased with the whole experience and would certainly recommend it to anyone interested in purchasing a car.
I visited Inchcape Volkswagen to have my vehicle MOT'd and have a minor service + a possible repair to my offside shock absorber. Happily the shock absorber did not need changing. Jodie was very helpful and assisted me in signing up for another service contract, also she kept me in the loop about the progress of the work. Jodie gave excellent customer service she is an asset to Inchcape.
My ID4 was in for a battery recall plus a service and software update. the customer service was excellent and all the arrangements for collecting and returning my car worked perfectly as did the provision of a "like-for-like" loan car. Would highly recommend Many thanks
There had been a mixup on telephone about whether I could bring car in just for a quick look as fuel cap flap was stuck. I was told anytime in the morning. I turned up at 09.30 am to find the car had to be booked in. At first it looked as if they would have to keep it for a while. In the event, the replacement part was ordered and delivered and fitted the same day. So all was well!
