Wonderful place with nice architecture. Good in the morning but worst place in the afternoon. It should be a library, not a shelter. Also they allow people to eat inside the hall. Every afternoon there are some kids and teenagers who don't have life and they like to disturb other people bringing food from McDonalds and being loud talking. These things make this library too wasted. And I think they are not going to change anything so I will give it just two stars. Pd: People need more education in this country, i am not saying everyone, but above all teenagers

Now offering a more contemporary feel to the place; Manchester Central Library is truly a remarkable site indeed. The atmosphere is as a library should be in its pockets of study areas, but it also has a museum ora about it. The cafe in the centre of the building is really rewarding after a reading session. You could even justify your visit to the library just for the cafe. The building looks like an extremely important landmark at night. I'd say it's up there with The London Tower Bridge, with every angle lit up in a similar way.

Remarkable place. So diverse. Stunning. One downside is, at it feels more informal now with cafe and tables with chairs and people are just loud :( lady on skype with no earphones... really? And staff doesnt react.

One of the largest libraries built over a century ago caters for everyone's needs. Study, Visit the Archives or simply relax. Modernised recently to be more user friendly.

Really nice library, staff are always very helpful. Great for kids to get a good impression of reading early on
