Came here on a breezy day for this hike. Definitely don’t come on a hot day as the sun could get too much.nnI didn’t have a chance to make it to the Peak District national park and this park gave me the countryside hilly views I was looking for on my trip!
The viewpoint is high up so hiking up there can feel like an achievement. I believe it’s the highest point of Worcestershire. The views from up top are nice too, we sat down and absorbed the nature and views which was relaxing and I felt refreshed. There are some cows and sheep kept up the hills as well which was a pleasant surprise as we didn’t know. I saw some people jogging as well and walking their dogs. Some children even brought their bikes despite it being steep. There is parking available too so you can drive up the hill until the trail starts. Also saw an ice-cream van parked nearby. I went there because I felt like having a nice walk, it was a lot more beautiful than what I had expected so my expectations were exceeded.nnNot sure where the nearest toilets might have been, possibly there could have been one nearby, I didn’t stumble across one. Just something to be aware of.
Amazing views and fully accessible even for wheel chairs, though it does get a bit steep at the top but well worth it. You can stay on the tarmac path or venture off, loads of places to park, and walk up. Malvern town has plenty of places for refreshments and local shops. Great for cycling though some of the paths and tracks do get busy with walkers.
I would say this makes a great peak district alternative. Our visit today has great weather but the sun became excessive. The climb is pleasant in all directions, steep at times to push a stroller along but enjoyable none the less. We parked at the upper parking and waked up the the beacon point and then down to the quarry.nIt was a good day.nnToddler alert: I cannot stress this enough, I have a great stroller on which I can push my toddler up the steep climb and grass areas with ease. Made my life easier and trip enjoyable.
Beautiful area comprising a series of rolling hills rising to over 400m at their highest providing far reaching views. A multitude of well marked paths crisscross the hills giving routes for all abilities. Numerous car parks provide ample parking and one ticket £5.50 covers all the Malvern Hills Trust car parks.
