With gorgeous views over the Severn Valley, this Georgian style coaching Inn was designed, in 1810, by Samuel Deykes for John Downes.

These premises were refurbished by JD Wetherspoon and reopened Dec 2010.



"The pub is open for breakfast until 12 noon and offers free refills all day every day on tea and Lavazza coffee. For lunch and dinner, there are lighter bites, with deli deal options and vegetarian choices, gourmet burgers and freshly made pizzas. Wetherspoon has championed a wide range of drinks, including real ales, craft beers, gins and soft drinks. Table service is available via the Wetherspoon app, using our unlimited free Wi-Fi. This pub has step-free access."

Came here every morning for breakfast as it was so cheap for what you get! Don’t think I have ever been to a posher “spoons”!nnStaff always so friendly and willing to help out, service is quick in the morning, and the views..nnGreat location to kickstart a hike up the hills. Can’t wait to come back!!
Can be busy when the weather is good and not as many indoor tables as you'd like but plenty of space outside. The outside balcony is lovely and has a fantastic view for whilst your eating / drinking. The meals came out very quickly and probably the best quality and sized weatherspoons ive had. Yummy and generous portions!
What a fantastic hotel in this beautiful town. Check in was easy and the rooms have character alongside the hotel. Well stocked room with waters, tea and coffee alongside the ability to get coffee for free with breakfast on the morning. Of course a good spoons pub downstairs with a good selection of food and drink as well.
Located in Town Centre, attractive building with 2 sun terraces with far reaching views. Room was spacious & had everything needed. Food & beers well priced. Not too busy as out of season. Liked it so much we managed to book an extra night.
Excellent value for money as with all JD Wetherspoon pubs. The staff were very efficient as they were quite busy.nBut the best part was the outside terrace which overlooked the glorious countrysidenWe had food & drinks in the sun.
