The Foley Arms Hotel (Wetherspoons)

About

With gorgeous views over the Severn Valley, this Georgian style coaching Inn was designed, in 1810, by Samuel Deykes for John Downes.

These premises were refurbished by JD Wetherspoon and reopened Dec 2010.

"The pub is open for breakfast until 12 noon and offers free refills all day every day on tea and Lavazza coffee. For lunch and dinner, there are lighter bites, with deli deal options and vegetarian choices, gourmet burgers and freshly made pizzas. Wetherspoon has championed a wide range of drinks, including real ales, craft beers, gins and soft drinks. Table service is available via the Wetherspoon app, using our unlimited free Wi-Fi. This pub has step-free access."

Fabulous night stay. Room was large and exceptionally clean. Night manager Ben was very helpful and friendly. All in all excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend if able bodied as no lift due to being a listed building with quirky sloping floors which add to its character and charm.
A few months ago, I wrote a review about a particularly negative experience with a staff member named Rachel. She was extremely rude when serving us our drinks, and when I politely addressed her behavior, she became aggressive, swearing and escalating the situation further. I remained calm and didn’t respond with any aggression.nnAfter the incident, I sent a private email to the manager, requesting body cam and security footage to document what happened. The manager even agreed that her behavior was unacceptable. However, rather than addressing the issue, they banned me for six months—seemingly to support their staff member despite her unprofessional behavior. The reason given was flimsy at best.nnRecently, I returned to the location, and the manager approached me to inform me that I was now banned for life, simply because I had shared my experience in an online review. Banning someone for honestly recounting their experience is absurd.nnIn short, the place appears to be run by a close-knit group of friends who don’t tolerate any form of feedback, even when expressed respectfully.nnThis handling of the situation feels incredibly unprofessional, and I’m shocked by the extent they’ve gone to avoid accountability. If anyone knows a regional manager or higher authority I can contact to escalate this matter, I would truly appreciate it. Thank you.
There is no suitable disabled parking near the Foley Arms. It is situated at the top of a steep hill. Entry is via a rotating door which is also unsuitable for disabled users.nPlacing an order via the app is a simple, easy to use process and a confirmation email is sent straight away.nThe wait for drinks and food is quite lengthy and I would suggest more staff be engaged at weekends and during busy periods to speed up service. The staff they do have are very pleasant and friendly but obviously overstretched.nWhen the food arrived it was nicely cooked, but lukewarm at best.nNot the best Weatherspoons we have been to buy most certainly not the worst.
Went for breakfast. Ordered online from table everything arrived quickly. The food was hot, and only complaint was the toast was barely toasted. Tables needed to be cleared quicker as we had to move previous customers' dishes, etc.
Lunch with work colleagues, food was good, however even though all ordered with 5 mins of each other at least 30 mins between first person's food arriving and last panini being served. However price for food and drink very reasonable.
