Impressive variety of wines and champagne. Excellent service friendly, helpful and attentive.
On 25/10/21 at 16.30 I was returning to Southend from Exeter by car and called into the Majestic Wine shop in Fossetts Way. I was tired and in a hurry. As I entered the shop I was immediately accosted by a salesman asking if he could assist me. I said that I just required a bottle of white wine about £5.00 in value. I was guided to buy a wine which I was told was £6.98 during which time I was given an uninvited lengthy explanation that cheap supermarket wines were inferior. I made a contactless payment and asked for the receipt but stupidly did not read it. I have now received my credit card statement showing a deduction of £11.98 and which is confirmed by the sales receipt. Buyers beware of this sharp practice and definitely don’t rely on the sales staff. I certainly will never enter this chain of shops again. The wine supplied was regular cheap plonk that I would expect to find in a supermarket for about £5.00!
Great wine shop for those who want to stock up. Partner is more the wine drinker than myself but regardless, large variety of wine from different regions with a selection to taste. The Mix 6 deal provides a decent discount for bulk purchases. Staff are friendly and helpful, plus even offering to carry them out to our car and printing tasting notes for each of the wines we purchased. Further selection of soft drinks and craft ales too. I guess the clue is in the name with Majestic *Wines* but a larger selection of craft ale wouldn't be a bad thing.
Annoyingly unhelpful attitude! Low on stock on some basics that you can get in the supermarket in spite of the Brexit, Covid excuses I was offered. Couldn’t find the list from my last visit until I called it up on my phone then argues that the customer no on the receipt wasn’t a customer no! This is a shame because I’ve shopped in majestic in the various places I’ve lived for years and always had a great experience. Will give it one more try if it’s no better I’ll take my money somewhere else!
Really helpful, although they didn't have the wine I wanted I was recommended some very similar. We bought six bottles because the offer make a good saving.
Always so helpful & pleasant. They really do go out if their way 2 find you a wine you will like. Very knowledgeable too. Highly recommend.
Theres a distinct no nonsense attitude about Majestic, no frills, no fuss, we're here to sell wine and beer and that's just what we'll do. Tasting is allowed and the staff are very knowledgeable and make good recommendations.

great selection and amazing staff who can always assist you to find what you like. Tasting section is usually well stocked and never leave without a new favourite
When there to get a friend some wine a a birthday present, the staff member was really help full didn't just try selling me the most expensive wine but really help me find what I was after
