If you want an honest opinion of the Argos customer service at Southend Victoria read on. I went to Argos to buy a watch for my nephew and some other bits and bobs. So went over to the jewelry counter and all of a sudden I am invisible, I had to call across to a staff member for assistance as I was being ignored. After selecting the watch from a pre reserved list, I was informed the watch would not be resized this evening (5.50pm). I asked if it could be done as we had got to the store at 5.30pm allowing 30minutes to purchase. Apparently everyone was busy but the store was empty, perhaps they were moving invisible stock. I had other items I wished to buy with the watch. This couldn't be done as the reservation for one was not ready. No problem I thought, I will pay for all of it at the counter and wait for the other item to arrive later. At 5.59 I was told to fast track it from my phone, I replied to this by saying how is that going to be possible in 1 minute. The cashier gave a vague response to this. In summary waste of time, I think Argos has slipped in customer service standards. The cashier had limited robotic vocabulary, with short responses such as yes and no. At no point did the person suggest or comment on the 4 watches we tried on. I was the one that was asking my nephew all the questions regarding comfort. Maybe I should get a job at Argos, I would have made the sale and probably sold a washing machine at the same time. Shame, there is always Amazon

It's Argos but seems to be relatively speedy. I probably spend more visits picking up eBay packages than buying things from Argos but that's the 21st century for you.

I have been to this particular branch a few times now and I have never had an issue. On each occasion it has been rather quiet and I have waited only a few minutes before being able to collect my items from the staff that seem friendly and polite

Argos has been there since the early 1970's and took over the premises that used to be Liptons supermarket. Liptons used to be as big as Tesco are now. Those were the days.
