Not a good experience at this GP. Rude receptionists and on the most part unhelpful doctors. In the years I have been registered I have not once been seen on time by a GP, they always leave me waiting, at times up to half an hour and without an apology. However, if you dare run late by under 15 minutes they refuse to see you. The GPs are nice, but they leave the onus on you to diagnose yourself and tell them what the issue is and what medication they should prescribe. The receptionists are some of the rudest I have met, a lot of reviews concur this yet they don't seem to be improving their customer service at all. I was ten minutes late for an appointment with my baby, because she's a baby and not everything goes to plan in the mornings. The older receptionist with short dark hair and glasses refused me to be seen, said I was late and that I will need to wait four weeks. She didn't bother to ask what was actually wrong with my baby, or say I could call in the morning for a quicker appointment if there is a cancellation. She almost revelled in relaying the news to me which was weird and unsympathetic. The practice manager should seriously consider the negative reviews on this page, these are real people's experiences. Actually do something about your staffs behaviour, it's not right and it's the reason why many are looking for a new surgery.
This clinic for me is the best. Getting appointments with doctors in person is so easy. Got to meeting doctor John Weir, he had to organise a nurse appointment for my port-a-cath maintenance. He didn’t let me wait for more than 2 days. Those are the doctors we always want. 100% recommended
I am new to the area and despite the reviews decided to check out the medical centre. It took me ages to get an appointment, as the waiting time is 4 weeks and for the first time I came a little bit late as I misheard the time. Fair enough, I had to wait again 4 weeks. When I came 4 weeks they wanted to cancel my appointment on the day. They managed to fit me in later, because I didn't pick up the call 1 hour before the early morning appointment. The front desk staff is unprofessional and rude most of the time. Also you need to explain your medical history and give reasoning - they will also make comments and judgement on your personal plans and life, which fairly isn't their job. It seems like they are more interested to dissapoint you rather than help and also they don't provide any good reasons or policies except "we decided like that". At the appointment I did get some help that I needed, but a doctor was googling and ended up prescribing me a wrong medicine. Also in comparison with my previous GP the hygiene standarts seemed very low during the blood test.
I understand this is a busy practice, too busy in my opinion. I’ve had terrible experiences with some receptionists and one of the managers in particular who suggested “is it not time you found a new practice” during a time me being in crisis. This was because I was being abusive to some staff because I m 100 percent ADHD and was being antagonised and received no empathy whatsoever. I understand there is a zero policy on abuse but if your in crisis and really suffering and have ADHD part of which is the inability to manage emotions then surely there must be some understanding and have some sort of de-escalation training and process in place. The waiting times have more than doubled in the last year or two and generally you’ll wait FIVE weeks for an appointment. Down to politics The doctors are in general very good although I was told there was no such thing as a nervous disposition or anxiety disposition when I asked! Very alarming considering this was me asking for help relating to ADHD which I didn’t know I had at the time. So I suffered on for years more because of this. I’ve complained to Lorraine regarding being told to “find another practice “. But have heard nothing since! So I feel I’ve been labelled an am regarded as a difficult patient.
The doctors and staff are great although a wait of 5 and a half weeks to get an appointment for Dr. Kiddie is ridiculous. And the new phone system, whose bright idea was it to put possibly the most depressing holding music ever while you wait.
I left home 10 years ago and have spent the years making a living alone in different cities around the world. I thought I'd seen a lot of people and adapted well. Until I met the receptionist at this GP practice, dark hair, glasses and she really shocked me. She is truly the rudest person I have ever met, with the ugliest heart I have ever met.
The most rude GP iv ever been too. The reception is always rude. I kindly asked the receptionist with black hair and glasses on if I was able to take a pregnancy test and she was like “NO YOU GO OUT AND BUY ONE” in a very straight attitude with her eyes opened. Im sure she could have just kindly said no sorry we don’t offer pregnancy tests. It’s just heartbreaking to see people like that. First off what gp does not offer a pregnancy test? Aren’t they there to help see what’s wrong with patients? And second what if someone just couldn’t afford to buy one. I’m changing GP because of that receptionist. Also that GP is full of drunk loud patients makes me feel very uncomfortable. The doctors are nice though.
rude receptionists. staff always off sick. 5 week wait times for even phone appointments. terrible lack of ventilation. small signs for recommended masking printed on printer running out of ink and stuck to window so only seen on the way out.
This surgery has been the best I have ever been to and I have been to a fair few in my time. The receptionists are very polite and helpful, even though it's apparent they have a very stressful job. I have seen people get stressed at them multiple times unfairly, but when I have been distressed on the phone due to mental illness, they have been incredibly understanding. The doctors are wonderful. Dr Miller helped me pursue a complex mental health diagnosis and gave me the help and validation I needed in a dark time which saved my life. He is also very respectful of gender and a trans ally, working to help us with our issues. I have seen them less, but Dr Kiddie, Dr McInroy and Dr Robertson are also really great and thorough. The one doctor I would avoid is Dr Peluso, who had the dismissive attitude of many misogynistic doctors I have had. He told me my long covid was stress - it is a common problem to attribute issues to stress/mental illness to patients who present as women. He was smug and condescending. This is especially an issue since more senior doctors had already confirmed my condition. I did not register a formal complaint, but I hope this review gets to him and he learns from this.
My son was poorly from last 3 week .now he got his results positive with H pylori.he is autistic and non verbale .he is continuously crying from past weeks I request to Main Street medical center if they give prescription or doctor call us about it .but they said it’s not urgent .doctor ll call u on Monday .today is Friday .it’s mean my son ll cry with pain 3 more days and then his treatment ll start on Monday evening..now I am going to take him ANE and it’s really difficult for my special needs child to waits hours . I am talking about surgery customer services.not about doctors . Doctors are really good in this surgery
