Why are receptionists Gestapo trained??

I've been going here since I was 5 (I'm now 28) and have been a fan of many of the Dr's (Dr Griffiths was brilliant), none moreso than my current Dr, Dr Jakub.

He takes the time to listen, takes the time to explain his thinking and most of all he's got it right every time.  I really appreciate his help and understanding and I wish more Dr's would take that extra few minutes to explain why they're doing what they're doing and help the patient understand what is/was wrong with them.
