The Magazine Hotel is one of the oldest pubs on the Wirral, with its building dating back to 1759, and still maintains much of its original character and charm. With our unique snugs and open fireplace, we always offer a warm welcome to our many customers. We are one of only a handful of pubs in the area still serving draught Bass, which attracts customers from near and far. With the introduction of guest ales in recent years, it has led to two awards from CAMRA, we have recently been awarded CAMRA Wirral Pub of the Season for Summer 2013 and were shortlisted for Pub of the Year for Wirral in 2010.
Set in an elevated position within the Magazines Conservation Area, the Magazine Hotel boasts a unique viewpoint of the River Mersey and New Brighton promenade, which allows day trippers and walkers to take full advantage of all that the pub has to offer. Set within a quiet residential area, there is a strong community feel which extends into the overall ambience of the pub and allows customers old and new to feel very much at home. With its extensive beer garden offering plenty of seating areas in which to enjoy the stunning views, it is a literal hotspot on a warm summer day. Situated to the rear of the pub beer garden, the Magazine Bowling Club, first established in 1853 can be found, and has always maintained a strong affiliation with the pub.
