Story

Macqueen the butchers is situated on the island of Bute on the west coast of Scotland. Today it is a busy vibrant shop run by brothers David and Ronald Macqueen who are continuing on the family butcher business established by their father Alastair M Macqueen in 1976.

This traditional butchers shop is situated on Bishop Street in the town of Rothesay and is close to the ferry terminal and new marina. The shop is renowned with the locals and visitors for its friendly atmosphere and outstanding service.

Just wonderful. The products and the service are second to none! The square sausage Lorne is out of this world and finds its way south to Leeds once in a while as a special treat. The whole family loves it!!!
Ive been shopping here for 12 years,taking g trolley load tp glasgow and now at last lin in heaven,i live 2 minutes away. If you are visiting the island dont miss the chance to take home some of the astonishing provide, i say that without exaggeration. Free range?its all free range! Grass fed? What else, no gimmicks here,a butchers counter to make a carnivore like me want to buy it all,and so much cheaper than glasgow, they do mail order too, sausages and pies are amazing beefburgers best ive taste,nothing is fatty,just pure bute favour and steaks are heavenly. 2 mins from ferry,just beside co op on seafront in,you won't regret it!
It's an amazing butcher with very helpful staff. I'm absolutely gutted to return to Aberdeen where there really isn't anything like this. I will definitely return.
Awesome proper butcher. Will do custom cuts on request and the Chip Shop Curry Sauce sausages were a revelation.
