Excellent. Highly recommended. Too many complainers on the island, who do not appreciate that Co-op actively help small communities. Not only by being here in the first place, when most major supermarkets are uninterested in small communities, where stocking the shelves every week and judging sales is a nightmare. Let alone getting deliveries with ferries off due to technical faults or bad weather. They also give funding to many locally run charities and helpful organisations as well as regularly donating food to the food bank. Take a look at many small, remote communities in Scotland and the only supermarket you will find there will be a Co-op. We are blessed to have a big Co and a wee Co on this island. I for one am grateful for them both
Good selection of goods considering we're a small area, brilliant staff, always helpful. Other supermarket chains failed here, co-op have stayed. Prices in store reflect the cost of excessive transportation costs from the ferry company Caledonian Macbrayne.
Horrible prices and no selection and I see people walking into the automatic doors everyday. Worth billions and can’t or refuse to spend a few thousand pound on doors that works, literally both co op stores doors don’t work. People put up with the co op people make out like there savours there not there ripping everyone off and they only have locations in rural places and islands because there’s no competition and they can take advantage of the locals.
Overpriced cause they know they can get away with it
Average Co-op supermarket. Reasonable selection from a company who used to be ethical. Not much competition on the island so they can charge what they want and conveniently blame the fact they need to use a ferry. The sooner an Aldi or Lidl opens in the town the better.
I was in the store today and due to past experiences I do not normally visit this store. I feel I have to bring to your attention the courteous mannerly and pleasant way I was treated today by a young man on checkouts his name is Jordan. Due to his demeanour it he made it a very pleasant experience. Regards Mary Carroll
Always eating the same food week in week out, variety of foods available is pitiful and the prices as we are on an island are pathetic, they never have enough stock so everyone practically has to run round the store to actually get what they need, the fiver meal deal is about the best thing they do I only go there to shop because I'm disabled and poor and have no choice or my shopping bill would be about half if we had an aldi or lidl I would like to add that most staff are wonderful at the co-op though x
As with most island stores it has most of what you will ever need, carparking is more than ample and there is a few disabled bays right next to the main entrance. It stocks a large variety of beers, wine and spirits that should satisfy most folks taste buds visiting the island. You can pick up freshly baked bread , rolls and other high calorie tasty items daily from both stores. Loads of cheeses, cold meats, veggie options to choose from and large selection of fresh fruit and vegetables Basically if the co doesn't have what you are looking for ask a member of staff and they may be able to help you out
Heavy duty rip off with them controlling the grocery supplies on Bute with two shops at extremely high prices.£2 price tag on ALL fruit. Can buy same for pennies in the real world.living in London is cheaper than the Coop. Rather then put decent low prices on stuff that's nearly reached its sell by date they throw the lot into the skip. Also the vegetarian/vegan range is rubbish with nothing really there
This store has really gone down hill in the last year. The store is dirty. Far too expensive. Terrible discounts. Zero customer service. We could do with a new and bigger supermarket on the island that is preferably not a co-op.
