Sprawling group of hotels and facilities near Aviemore town centre. Highland Hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms were a good size. Front desk staff were helpful. Buffet breakfast was OK, but quality was mixed. Some days excellent, some days not so good stations often empty, yesterday's croissantsRooms: 5/5
Good hotel in centre of Aviemore. Very good breakfast in the hotel. Evening meal in the Italian restaurant was excellent. Rooms were fairly spacious and very clean. Not many places to go within the three hotels after dinner as the bars all closed between 9pm and 10pm.
It’s possible to shower under the scalding hot water if you kneel on the floor. You won’t miss the beach as there plenty of sand, dirt and other mysterious geology lying at the bottom of the pool and in the changing areas. I found the rust everywhere reassuring. Added some colour to the place. The hot tub whirlpool was hot but didn’t whirl. And of course this aging British leisure facility wouldn’t be complete without a lifeguard who tells off the kids for having too much fun with a floaty thing. But! Two solid stars for the lightning and thunder sounds that accompanied the wave machine, which gave me flashbacks to when our ship was torpedoed during Pearl Harbour. We lost a lot of good people that day. Why do you need £1 for a locker anyway? What purpose does that serve? I’m not buying it and it doesn’t stop me stealing the key. Plus it forced me wander half naked back to the bored receptionist to ask for a second coin after I’d filled up the first locker. All in all an underwhelming experience. I love the UK. It’s falling apart which means visits are never dull.
This hotel has everything for all ages, and the entertainment for the kids is definitely one of the best for hotel facilities. Unfortunately, I would say that it's a bit outdated. I do wish that for a resort like this in a fantastic location, some rooms are renovated or so. Even in the room, they had hot and cold water in a separated tap, it's so annoying! But this hotel is in the centre of everything, Aviemore has a lot to offer, and it's not far from airport so reaching it from London was very much easy.
Fantastic trip up Aviemore on business hotel was great dinner was fantastic as well. There was a great selection of breakfast food as well Good on site shop for lots of general stuff as well as gifts, various coffee shops on site as well. It's good access via A9 and for public transport as well. There is good wild life in the forest at night if you want to sit and watch for the deer wandering about. Great family place and business centre for conferences etc
Beautiful lodge. A dusting of snow made it magical. Lodge had everything we needed, and the resort kept our family occupied with sledging, skating, swimming and soft play. Aviemore has lots of little shops and eateries, and the staff were very friendly. My son called it Christmas land! Rooms: 5/5
The lodge was very confortable and can easy accommodate a big family; we were a party of 4 and for sure up to 6 could sleep well. The low side was the fact that just the basics coffee/ tea we missed. The restaurant was not offering food service, just the bar which was nice to chill out and enjoy a drink. Rooms: Confortable and clean Nearby activities: Plenty to do. Food & drinks: Not in the lodging area, few options near by.
Big disappointment. Went for Santa weekend with my 7 year old. Entertainment was good, lots of fun, unfortunately let down by hotel, what's advertised is not what you experience. Restaurants shut, room picked not guaranteed even after upgrading, room cleaning not what you'd expect, never received an honest response from on duty staff, manager never appeared as advised by staff member..... I could go on.
The resort is easy to find, and it is huge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms and other facilities are a bit out of date. The leisure centre is awesome with its slide and wave generating pool. The kids loved it. The whole place feels spacious and cosy.Rooms: 4/5
The hotel needs a major upgrade. Both the exterior and the interior are outdated. That being said, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable and I had a really good night's sleep. Staff upon check in were nice, but nobody was around for checkout so I just left my key and left. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Rooms: Seem to have been done up slightly but also a bit rough around the edges. The hallways to the rooms are very tired and soundproofing is not very good.
