Food was amazing in this hotel, only thing I would say we paid for breakfast and dinner package but still had to pay for our child ro eat at dinner. Rooms could do with an update, beds are hard so did not get a good sleep could tell the mattress need binned as you could see it dip in the middle, our room was not cleaned once we had to ask for toilet roll and towels, could not use shower as it was too hot. Tv could not even get a guide up or access the smart TV function and the Internet had a poor signal. The swimming and soft play is brilliant if you have kids but the cafe was closed so could not purchase drinks and also reception staff at the activity as you walk in they were sitting on the counter so unprofessional and not nice to see. We enjoyed spending time together as its a great location but for the price and it being a 4 star hotel they need to up there game
What a beautiful spacious room with incredible views of the Aviemore surroundings, it was very picturesque.nnThe reception staff and management were really helpful, they were always willing to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable.nnThe afternoon tea was delicious, I recommend it to anyone reading this review. The carrot cake was by far my favourite sweet treat.nnHowever we had a few issues during our stay, we had numerous staff members walk into our room on numerous occasions even with a 'do not disturb' sign on the door. This was quite alarming as we were getting changed after having a shower.nnThe room delivered breakfast was missing a few items that we requested on the sheet the night before and the gentleman walking into the room when I asked him to wait by the door was unprofessional.nnAfter bringing up these issues to reception, they tried to rectify the situation to the best of their ability. Please suggest to your staff to knock on the door before entry and to give reasonable time for people to respond.nnAll in all, I would visit the hotel again as I don't feel like the problems we faced were deal-breakers.
As others have said the rooms are a bit tired but acceptable, the location is stunning and there is plenty to do in the area.nThe Italian restaurant was my choice for my evening meal and tasted good and was fairly priced too.nBreakfast this morning was not great, in fact below par. The staff member spoke little after showing me to my table and the hot food was at best ok.nI would recommend the area as it’s stunning.
Our holiday was significantly disrupted by a malfunctioning fire alarm at our hotel, which sounded not just once or twice, but three distressing times throughout the day. The first instance occurred late afternoon. The alarm blared again an hour later and then a third time at 8:30 in the evening, each incident filled with the sharp, piercing sound of the alarm echoing throughout the premises.nnThese episodes were particularly traumatic for our toddler, who became increasingly scared with each occurrence. The unsettling nature of the alarms meant that by nightfall, our little one was agitated to settle down and sleep peacefully. Upon getting settled the alarm sounded again. Unfortunately, the hotel's response to the situation added to our frustration. Despite the repeated disturbances, the staff, including the duty manager who had recently taken over the shift, were notably non-responsive. Despite being aware of the cause it took until the third time to take action. We found ourselves unable to lodge a formal complaint or receive any acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused, as the duty manager avoided taking any responsibility for the mishap and refused to take a complaint, instead passing the number of the previous duty manager.nnThis lack of engagement from the hotel staff left us feeling disregarded and undervalued as guests, further tarnishing our holiday experience.
Rooms were ok, the food was brilliant - beyond expectations. The beer was awful tho. I had a pint of Grolsch which tasted off, switched to Peroni but left it as it was undrinkable. Had bottled beer in the end!
