Comfortable yet small rooms, slightly dated. Pleasant river views to one side. Close to town centre, walking distance. Nice breakfast, spoilt by receptionist giving us and an elderly couple the wrong finish time which nearly left us without. Hot drinks in rooms. Came here to eat at the Indian restaurant which was a disappointment. It's website showed beautifully served food when the real experience was not and included waitress' thumb in food as she put the plate down.

Inexperienced staff let the hotel down. On arrival we were greeted by 3 different staff members, each of whom took our booking information and then disappeared. More training seems to be needed. Otherwise tea was splendid.

The hotel has a fantastic location, sitting over a lock on the Thames. If you were here as a tourist, it would probably be the only hotel that you would want to stay in. However, as a business traveller it was less ideal. The interior is quite dated and genetic in the room areas, the room was extremely hot making sleep difficult, and there are no fitness facilities. Although less historical and a bit soulless, the Crowne Plaza is better for business - probably why it is always booked up.

Plenty of free parking. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Scenic location. Not cheap in either way but a great treat.

The place is nice, the reception not so. Boiling hot day, air conditioning didn't work in our executive room. Only after threatening to move out they offered a room with air-conditioning, which was a downgrade. They refused to offer any refund and couldn't care less.
