What was outstanding about this hotel for us, arriving with a wheelchair, was the accessibility. Our room had an accessible bathroom, a slow close door, various alarms and plenty of space. For the first time ever, a receprionist at a hotel worked with us to create an evacuation plan. The food and service was great too. We're already planning a return visit.
Absolutely enjoyed out overnight stay. Room was lovely and a view of the golf course suited hubby. Staff were so very friendly and helpful. Dinner was very good and service was laid back, no rush. Breakfast was good, can’t complain. Hubby had a round of golf on Sunday, I had use of the spa facilities and the Elemis treatments were fabulous. My Therapist Nina was amazing and I would thoroughly recommend having some “Me” time. All in all, will definitely come back.
Second time at this hotel and won't be our last. Staff are friendly. Room nice and clean. Spa treatments excellent and hubby enjoyed his round of golf! Food was also excellent. Would definitely recommend Rooms: 5/5
On arrival there was an offer on in spa for treatments, my friend and I were so excited, however no availability that day, take away the offer then. Waited quite a while to get a coffee from bar, when I did it was warm. No cash can be spent on premises, which was a shame. Food was amazing at night in restaurant. Bed was so comfortable. The scenery was awesome. Linda Rooms: Great size beds, warm rooms, could leave you complimentary water.
Had a fabulous overnight stay with my partner, including afternoon tea, dinner, and breakfast the following morning. The hotel is located in stunning scenery in the Scottish Borders, with amazing views. Room was fantastic, spacious, clean and well appointed. Facilities were top notch, with a good sized shower, separate from the bath, large towels, and a heated towel rail! Facilities were exactly as you would expect for such a venue, with a clean heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and spa on site. Staff were lovely, especially Tamzin on reception who was incredibly helpful Dinner was beautiful, speedy service and excellent fresh local produce. All in all highly recommend and can't wait to return!
This two night break for my husband and myself was amazing in every way.The food was excellent as was the service from all of the staff. Tazmin,Roxanne,Max and Lulu gave great attention to detail were knowledgeable and extremely helpful nothing was to much bother. They took the time to have conversations with most of the guests which made you feel very welcome. We will definitely be back
Absolutely fantastic staff, excellent food, cater for all intolerance needs, spotless rooms with panoramic views. Pet friendly too! Highly recommended and the golf course is in outstanding condition. As Arnie says " I'll be back" Walkability: Great countryside walks along the banks of the River Tweed and the Scottish Hills. Food & drinks: Dinner was marvellous and breakfast superb drinks not too expensive
The hotel was clean and tidy which is a compliment to the very friendly housekeeping team who were very attentive and helpful. Beautiful surroundings and very pet friendly. Lots of space out back for a dog to run off lead. We took our dog to breakfast and dinner and we were always catered to. The food price to match the quality left some serious room for improvement. It looked nicer than the flavour it provided. For instance we ordered chicken strips, and got chicken nuggets look closely in picture provided The rice for the curry was cooked in a very salty brine which overpowered the dish. I wouldn't order it again. That experience put me off putting my faith in the restaurant cooking a expensive steak another night. So subsequent dinners were eaten elsewhere.
Fantastic hotel. Room was large & cosy, comfy bed & came with bath & separate shower. Restaurant food was really good, service was quick & always attentive. Spa facilities were really good. Had an amazing massage. Views of the surrounding area were lovely. Overalls very relaxing & enjoyable stay.
We stayed here as a large family unit using about 8 rooms, one of which was a accessible room for our elderly Dad. The staff were friendly but rather disorganised. The meals were fine but on the first night they forgot to serve one of our party's main meals. Our room was very nice with a view of the golf course. However there were several things that were very inconvenient. Each room only had one key. This proved difficult. Our elderly father could not move easily and could not get to the door easily. So we asked for a second key to be told they didn't exist. This meant that no one could just pop in to check on him. The manger had to let us in just to check on him. This really is not acceptable. If he had fallen or called out we would have had to run to reception to get someone to let us in. But the staff were adamant that there was nothing they could do to help us . In addition to this the hotel has adopted a pay as you go policy. This also proved inconvenient and seems to me to set a poor tone. Nothing could be allocated to the room and paid at the end of the stay. Although the meals were ok the breakfasts were very expensive at £24 per person . On the last morning we opted to go out for breakfast which much nicer and half the price. And finally there is not a huge amount of space to sit in the bar in the evenings , especially given that this is a golfing hotel and caters for large groups on a regular basis. We were directed to the Spa bar downstairs. This bar was not open so everytime we wanted a drink we had to go upstairs to the main bar. . Overall a disappointing experience given the cost of the weekend. I would hestitate to recommend it to groups who needed accessible rooms as with only one key they are anything but accessible.
