Had to wait 10.5 hours to have my gash glued which took 5-10 minutes. Went in at 6pm, left at 04.30am. I understand there are more major accidents but it only took 5-10 minutes to sort me out... I could've been on my way much sooner and less frustrated as could other people that were also waiting for minor injuries - I think there should be separate departments, for major and minor accidents. There was a woman waiting next to me even longer than me and she only got seen to before me she waited even longer than I did in total. There was an old man who had been there since 11am and didn't get a bed till 3am. Nurse was nice though when I got seen to and answered my questions about what to do next.
I went into A&E last night and left this morning, I didn't wait as I was rushed to a bed but I was blown away with how wonderful the staff were especially Claudia, Aanu, and Michael - I really appreciated how kind you were and how we were are to have a laugh while I was stressed, it made the night/morning go so much easier.nnI'm used to some bad hospitals so I was pleasantly surprised by how the A&E looked plus how wonderful the staff were.nI hope I'm never there again but I would have more confidence for my care if I did.
Initial experience was good but fell short massively on waiting times, the time of writing this is 3am the chap opposite me had been there for 12 hours and was ment to be in a bed, I personally have foreign matter in my eye was told I'd be seen fairly soon but there isnt an optician so will have to be a dr..... hours later nothing, people coming in after me were getting seen. Goggling the 4 hour pledge the NHS is trying to stick to macc hospital fails massively.nnI'm going home I've waited long enough and will be visiting our local hospital
I am a carer for older people living at home and I took a lady to Macclesfield Accident and Emergency Department after she was bitten by her cat. We received excellent and very prompt care for which we were both extremely grateful. Thank you to all the staff in that unit.
Excellent nurse's and doctors, went with my wife who collapsed in reception, got instant help from some great people on duty,thank you
